Re: i dont have a softwre to sync my PDA with my pc
There is no such thing as a benq pc suite...
the cd only contains trial version of pocket outlook <--------- this cannot be downloaded anymore due to the release of the new windows mobile office presentation dx (pocket point beta) <---- you can download this at....www.download.com pocket version of adobe reader <---- you can download this at www.adobe.com
if you need the program for syncing the device do the following:
if your pc is windows vista you dont need the active sync sotware by microsoft... because there is a preinstalled software included with the os... (its called windows device center found in control panel)
if you're using windows xp (all versions except x64) here are the download link of Microsoft Active Sync...
active sync 4.5 (xp sp2 /sp3) http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9e641c34-6f7f-404d-a04b-dc09f8141141&DisplayLang=en active sync 4.2 (support for almost all xp formats xp, 2003, sp1, media center) http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=7269173a-28bf-4cac-a682-58d3233efb4c&DisplayLang=en

Dell made an entry into the market of Personal Digital Assistants (PDA)
with Axim X5. The Dell Axim comprises of families of X5, X3, X30, X50
and X51. The Dell Axim PDA can be connected to the computer either by
using a cradle or a sync cable. The sync cable connects the device to
the computer directly. Here are the steps for connecting a Dell Axim to
a computer using a sync cable.
Microsoft ActiveSync software must be installed in order to connect the
PDA to the computer. This software is found in the Dell Axim Pocket PC Companion CD.
The Axim X51 PDA has a 36-pin connector, while the X3 has a 22-pin docking connector.
Connect the USB connector found at the end of the sync cable to the computer.
the PDA. If the PDA is not properly cabled to the computer, you will
get the following message: “Connect your device to a computer using a
sync cable or cradle before running the system update. Ensure that
ActiveSync is installed on the computer and that the ActiveSync
connection is successful.”
Ensure that the Dell logo faces upward.
Use the sync cable to set up a partnership, which can be done multiple times when you sign in as a guest.
Hi. While holding power button, and pressing reset will do a hard reset to your PDA (reset the device to its factory default settings). So if your PDA is working well, don't do it. As for the syncronization with your Vista PC; Winodws XP uses the ActiveSync software for syncronization, and for Windows Vista, Microsoft developed a brand new syncronization software called "Windows Mobile Device Center". It can be downloaded here: (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/device-center-download.mspx). When you download/install this software to your PC, you should be able to connect your PDA to your PC without any problem, and definitely without changing any OS in your PDA or PC. Hope this helps.
I am running vista and havent had this problem, as a matter of fact if you have vista you no longer need activesync. Vista comes with a built in software application to sync you PDA, there si no logical solution i can think of that would cause this problem other than your computer may need to be updated, and also vista will update all the drivers for the dell x30 as well, just make sure it is able to do all updates, not just microsoft ones. hope this works for you!
First sorry for my bad english.I have a same PDA (acually its dead :-( ) And me too had this problem.Try moving a little bit your pda on cardle, or (this looks like crazy but actually worked for me) do not fully put in the cardle into pda.I mean dont stick in into cardle, just a little bit.
Dear Phil, its mean you have to update the GPRS Service.
there are 2 ways to downlaod the files, GPRS or internet
1. click on the quick gps connetion icon, select setting.
2. select setting, then check the enable update and initial GPRS
3. click on icon and select download, it will connect to date service and download the files.
step 1 and 2 above
3. click icon select download while it on cradle.
also install the quick gps utility on pc, and add the quick qps
connection into activesync list. each time you synchronize PDA the file
will get updated.
For your second problem ,which is related to File Passward protections , its seems you had create these Worksheets on NTFS File system thatswhy they asked about the passward.
you also have a connection manager on the PDA Itself ( Active sync ) Try syncing from the PDA as Well As The Computer Active Sync Program.
Also make sure if you have a firewall, you allow the PDA into it as a trusted Device.
Mike @ Compurepair.
1 more thing, try on/off the PDA whilst in sync mode.
Hope This Helps.
try syncing through bluetooth, there could be a problem with the cradle. i have had an issue very similar to yours and had to do a soft reset on my pda. then set up your device to use a blue tooth connection( you may need to buy a bluetooth dongle for your pc).
