I think you mean the channel/audio status display keeps coming on which normally indicates a poor reception (the channel beacon would come on when changing channels and then goes off) I think you should have your aerial system checked out.

I would check the power supply for bad capacitors. The caps look like small "barrells" AND THE END WILL BE BULGED OUT IF THEY ARE BAD. Very inexpensive rapair if you do it yourself, caps are around $2 each.

It may be a setting on the TV some stations only broadcast in Mono. But most likely check your tv settings and make sure it is in stereo mode.

We have purchased a 2nd hand "ROWA" television, ,model number "RTM686" which has stereo sound, when watching any program on most channels backgrond sound and music keeps fading in...

In the end we sorted the problem ourselves, although the stereo sound now does not work at all,
we merely removed the video & audio leads from the rear of the set ( stereo sound) and moved them to the side which only emits a mono signal. although the sound is now only of the quality of a normal tv, we can at least enjoy watching a larger screen. An update in the near future to a large flat screen is on the cards.

When TV came back on its own 10 mins later , screen had 2 large square staines superimposed in image (as if it was a burnt screen)...Engineer will be back next week...all quite sad really for a new TV.....will keep u posted

Can i connect a stereo receiver to my 62 inch projection tv

Depends on your model # - I will need that to provide you an extra assistance:
If your model is....
62PL9524 - YES
62PL9774 - YES

if it is any other model, I will need model number to tell you for sure

On these two models, you would hook r and w audio from the mono out port to the stereo receiver

I once had the same problem. I was advised to remove any nearby electrical equipment such as my stereo player. It worked.

What channell do you tune to for dvd output for durabrand model Dwt 1905

Hi,

I believe its not on a channel but on VIDEO. Chances are you have the DVD hooked up as Audio/Video using the RCA cables (yellow, red & white). The TV must be set to Video IN not TV Tuner/Channel. Additionally, your TV can only accept a mono audio input while your DVD's audio output is stereo. A quick and dirty way out is to use an adapter shown below to convert the stereo to mono. Additionally, to my knowledge your TV's Audio/Video inputs are on the front panel.

Alternately, if the front panel Audio/Video connector is already being used by another device, an RF modulator may be used and this time your TV has to be switched to a channel prescribed by the RF modulator. A fine example is one from RadioShack.

In some instances, there are DVD players that has a built-in RF Modulator and normally uses either Channel 3 or 4.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

I just bought a Sharp Aquos LC-32D64U and a Box in the upper right hand corner keeps popping up "Air Analog Ch. 3 Audio Mono/Stereo." The audio keeps flashes either mono or stereo and it does...

The following pretains to most TV models:

Check to see if there is a key on the remote that is called "Display". This is normaly used to display the TV's operation status. Press it and see if you can work your way through different modes of the display content for the screen.

If you cannot make the statis dissapear, it is possible that there is a fault in the incoming signal and the TV is indicating this error, or it is possible that there is an actual defect in the set. At this point, I would contact the dealer. If you don't get a satisfactory answer, then you should contact Sharp service directly.

With retail dealers in many states and countries if you are dissatisfied with the set, you should be able to exchange the TV set in a specific period of time depending on the local laws that deal with consumer sales.

I CAN'T GET MY AQUOS LC-52SE94U TO RECEIVE A DIGITAL READ ONLY AN ANALOG ONE AND THE PICTURE ISN'T AS SHARP AS IT SHOULD BY

I called Sharp and they said that you cannot use a coaxial cable. You need to use either an S-Video or HDMI cable. That fixs not only the digital but also the mono audio issue (instead of stereo).

How to connect surround sound system, at the moment its connected through cable, each time we use the dvd player we have take them out of the cable box then into the dvd player, we have a LG 42PC55 tv.

In order of picture and sound quality -- from best to worst:

1. The best way to connect, assuming your TV and A/V Receiver and/or Cable Box have the jacks, is to use a HDMI cable ( this cable is for both sound and video).

2. Use Component Video out to input (3 RCA plugs, Red, Blue & Green) along with RCA Audio out to input (2 RCA plugs for stereo - 1 for mono).

3. Use S-Video out to input (1 din plug) along with RCA Audio out to input (2 RCA plugs for stereo - 1 for mono).

4. Use Video out to input (1 RCA plug, yellow) along with RCA Audio out to input (2 RCA plugs for stereo - 1 for mono).

Be sure to select the correct inputs on your TV and Audio/Video receiver when you are watching TV. For example if you have connected your TV to HDMI 1 and DVD to HDMI 2, you will not see or hear anything if you don't select the correct input on your TV and A/V receiver for the input you want to see and hear.

Detailed connection instructions will be found in your owners' manuals.

Hope this helped you. :)
