well to start, it possibly might not be the driver you need, normally if it is it will say found new hardware yarda yarda, and then the normal is can't install driver yarda yarda, this sounds more like you have the audio disabled in the bios, you will have to check this first, and then see if windows picks it up..go to control panel and and system then hardware then device manager, have you got a yellow triangle next to sound,video and game controllers, if you have you will need the drivers, if you have nothing at all this is either soundcard disabled or worse senario sound board u/s....hope this helped
