Question about Kenmore Elite 22.4 cu. ft. Bottom Freezer Refrigerator with Adjusta Cube Ice Maker

1 Answer

Front Door Digital Control Panel keeps cycling

I accidentally pressed up against the control panel on the front door of my Kenmore Elite bottom freezer refrigerator when working over head. It started beeping and now continues to cycle through all the ICONS and I can't get it to stop. Conseqently, I don't know if my refrigerator is running or not.

When I called Sears, they just want to send out a service technician, apparently there is no one who can instruct me over the telephone.

I'm hoping you all can give me some instructions.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Regards,

Ann Conrad

Though I received no FREE support from FixYa (as advertised), after a restless nights sleep I figured out what to do, as I discovered in the morning my refrigerator had indeed stopped running.

Just to provide some background info, this new Kenmore refrigerator was larger than the one it replaced, however I managed to accomplish a near impossible task and squeeze it into the same space, thus it was there to stay, because moving it in and out again was an unlikely task.

Back to the solution. I decided I should try turning the refrigerator on and off. Since I could not locate any controls inside the refrigerator which would turn it off, my only option was to pull the refrigerator out of its very tight space and unplug it, which is exactly what I did. After 60 seconds I plugged the refrigerator back in and ta-da!!!, it refrigerator started running and the control panel stopped cycling and held the initial settings.

I have to admit, I have not attempted to push the refrigerator back into its space, as that is not a feat I'm ready to face.

I hope this common sense solution helps others in need, although they probably will figure it out on their own much faster than I did.

Have a GOOD day!!!

Regards,

Ann

Hi, I have a kenmore elite deep chest freezer. Model 253.16582105. can't stop the beeping, even after replacing the 9 volt battery.

Fridge keeps beeping or buzzing: The following is for Frigidaire models but others can be addressed similarly.

Several Frigidaire refrigerator models have an electronic control panel on the freezer door the owner can use to adjust the internal temperature, dispense ice and water and receive notification about issues such as the need to replace a water filter. The refrigerators also emit a beep for various actions and as an occasional alarm. Determining what causes the beeps necessitates some troubleshooting.
Temperature Controls ·A Frigidaire refrigerator's display panel blinks when the control panel is touched to set temperature controls. After pressing "Freezer Temp" or "Refrigerator Temp" on the keypad, press the arrow buttons within five seconds to increase or decrease the desired temperature. If you do not press the arrow buttons within five seconds after pressing "Freezer Temp" or "Refrigerator Temp" on the keypad, the refrigerator beeps to indicate the current setting will stay in place.

Door Open ·When you leave the refrigerator or freezer door open, the refrigerator beeps. Also, the "Door Ajar" indicator illuminates on the appliance's display panel. Shutting the door and pressing "Alarm Reset" stops the beeping and turns off the "Door Ajar" indicator light.
·The Frigidaire refrigerator has a control lock feature that prevents use of its control panel or dispensers when the unit is locked. When the control lock is active, a beep sounds when a keypad or dispenser is pressed. Release the control lock by pressing the "Control Lock" icon for three seconds. A beep will sound, and the icon's light will go out.
Power Reset ·A power reset is occasionally necessary if the Frigidaire refrigerator's control panel does not work normally or a reset function on the keypad does not work. A power reset involves disconnecting power to the refrigerator by unplugging its power cord from the electrical outlet, waiting 30 seconds and plugging the power cord back into the electrical outlet. When the control panel resets, a beep sounds. If the refrigerator beeps even after a power reset and the beeps' source is not known, contact Frigidaire.

Dispenser door opens, but auger motor doesn't operate for cubes or crushed ice.

I believe that voltage to the auger motor should be DC voltage. Yes it could be a relay on the board causing this and it could also be the Auger Motor 2252130

What does Kenmore refrigerator error code er co mean?

I just did a google search. It seems that it is a communications error between the computer in the back of the refrigerator and the front panel display,. Some people have replaced the computer only to find that the problem stays. At least two have found that wires have broken in the front door.
The wires get flexed when the door is opened and closed.
Use your model number at the sears parts direct to see user manuals diagrams and parts lists. Link below.

I HAVE AN ERROR CODE dH on my Kenmore Elite bottom

The Er DH error code indicates the temperature sensor on the evaporator coil did not reach 50 degrees within one hour.
This would indicate the control board did put the refrigerator through a defrost cycle.

This problem could be caused by a defective relay on the control board, a defective defrost heater, a broken wire to the heater, or a stopped up drain on the defrost pan causing ice to form on the evaporator coil.

Before replacing the control board, someone should remove the food from the freezer, remove the freezer drawer, and remove the evaporator cover to expose the evaporator coil, heater, and defrost sensor.
The voltage to the defrost heater should be 120 volts ac.
The defrost heater is part of the evaporator coil and is not replaceable as a separate part.

You can test the operation of the defrost system by pressing "Ultra Ice" and "colder freezer temp" for 3 seconds.
The first time you press and hold the buttons the board will test the compressor, fan, and open the damper.

All displays should be on.

The second time you press and hold the buttons the board will test the compressor, fan, and close the damper.

The third time you press and hold the buttons, the board will turn the compressor and fan off and turn the defrost heater on for around 25 minutes. This would let you know if the defrost system is working.

Can't identify "water filter indicator light"

the indicator light could be on the control panel inside the refr section if your controls are there, or it is most likely on the front of the dispenser panel. it only comes on when you draw water from the dispenser and thats when you will see it be green, filter ok, yellow, filter at 80% life, or red, time to replace the water filter.
also you dont need to shut off the water when changing the filter as it is made with a shut off device in the filter housing already and is automatic.
by the way filters are expensive, go online and check prices. google "water filters" and find a good price.
