Question about Computers & Internet
I bought Acer Aspire 5920 a month ago. I installed Windows XP SP2. But I cannot run Visual Studio 6 on it. ?
There is no problem during installation , but when i open Visual Basic I get this error message & the window of VB6 closes.
"The instruction at 0×03daa08d referenced 0×00000064, the memory could not be read."
I tried installing-Uninstalling of course.
I also tried different CDs of XP.
But I get the same Error.
Do u think the software doesn't work with newer motherboards ?
No I don't think that is the problem here, what kind of CPU do you have? Is it a AMD 64-bit processor? The application is triggering an invalid register in the system command processor. More than likely that version of Visual Studio had limited support for the AMD CPU... multi-core... x64... You can try updating Visual Studio with the last service pack offered or upgrade to something like Visual Studio .NET 2005 (VS 8.0). Microsoft offers the Express Versions for free online... I doubt you'll have a problem with a modern high-level compiler; you can also run a Registry Repair Tool to see if there are any invalid registry entries. I use Uniblue Registry Booster because they're a Microsoft Certified Partner.
