Hi!

This is the link where you can download the driver for your phone -

http://in.lgmobile.com/web/web.support.manualRF.laf

Select the model number of your phone and download the "modem driver" and PC Sync.

So, you want to use your phone as a modem for your computer to connect to the internet? Well, it will work fine. But before doing this, verify first with your mobile phone provider if they offer this feature and ask them how much they charge for this . They will also give you the settings that you will need when using the LG PC Suite (the software that you will use to connect to the internet- also called PC Sync) . In some countries this is a cheap way to have internet access. In other countries, this is VERY expensive.
Anyway, you just need to install both the driver and PC Sync software. Connect the phone to your PC, run PC Sync (make sure to setup the software based from your provider's required setup) then connect.

I hope that helps.

Good luck and have a nice day!

I have a Dell inspiron 537 sesktop pc and the lan adapter is not recognizing the ethernet lan connection. I reinstalled the drivers etc but it still show " not connected ". Is there anyway to...

To connect to the Internet, certain hardware and services are needed, which are listed below. Without any one of these items, connection to the Internet is not possible.
  • Broadband Internet Service (also known as Internet Service Providers or ISP) - Telephone companies (also known as DSL, which uses a telephone line) and cable TV companies usually offer Internet service.

  • Broadband Modem - Normally, a broadband modem can be rented or purchased from the ISP.

  • Computer with a Network Adapter - This is usually a device located inside the computer.

  • Broadband Router - A router is used to connect all of your computers to the network (but is not needed for a single computer). The router also provides a way to connect to the Internet through the Broadband Modem.

Linking your system connection to Air

TEMAB COMPUTERS ICT

You moving to the world of internetworking, as in you connecting your system with a dial up or modem so you can access the internet from your home, office and everywhere you may be the following are to be considered .
1. A computer. In order to use dial-up you must make sure not only that you have a computer but that it is going to work with your dial-up service. Some ISP's do not require that you install any software to get connected, so just about any computer would work. However, if they do require that you download their software or run a CD to start their service, you need to make sure that their software is compatible with your service.
For example, your computer may not have a CD drive if it's a compact laptop. Or perhaps you have an older operating systems like Windows 95 or 98. Many installations are not compatible with these older computers. If you have a Mac or Linux computer, you must make sure that the ISP will be compatible with it, or it might not work. If you are using the modem that came with the computer you have to make sure that the modem is installed or updated enough that it will not cause slow connections. Check with a computer technician if you are not sure there is a modem or that it's in good working order.
2. A modem. If your computer does not have a modem, or you wish to use a separate external modem, make sure that it is the correct type of modem. It must be a dial-up modem--broadband modems will not work. Also make sure that your modem is going to be compatible with the services you would like to have on your dial-up. For example, if you would like to add an Internet Call-waiting feature on your dial-up service, you need to have a V.92 standard computer. Otherwise you will not be able to be notified of incoming calls while you are online. Also, if the modem is not in proper working order, for example, it is missing it's latest driver software or has been damaged or corrupted, you will not be able to use it. Thirdly, if the modem is too old and does not have the latest standard, it may not connect as fast as a new one would, so if you know your modem is not V.92, you may need to get a new one so you can get better connection speeds.
3. A land-line telephone. This means your phone line must be an analog phone--cable phones, digital phones, and (usually) cellphones will not work. Dial-up uses analog phone lines because of how it converts and transmits information. It's just like a normal telephone. If you try to use dial-up on any other type of phone, you will get an error connecting because the modem cannot detect the analog dial-tone. Check with your phone provider if you are not sure if it is compatible to dial-up. Also, keep in mind that you will not be able to use your phone and the Internet at the same time, so if you wish to keep your phone line free for telephone calls, you may need to add a second line to your home. However, if you don't want two lines, simply add call waiting and caller ID to you land line and if you have a V.92 modem, you should be notified of incoming calls while you're online.
4. A telephone cord. This may sound silly, but some people do forget about this step. In order to have Internet through dial-up, you must have a phone cord attached from the back of the modem or the back of your computer to the phone jack in the wall. You might want to get a splitter so your phone line can share the phone jack with your computer, or you might be able to connect your computer to your phone or vice versa, using the "line in" and "line out" jacks on the phone or on the back of the computer.
Another important thing to keep in mind is that your telephone cord needs to be as short as possible. Any cord longer than 6 feet could affect your ability to connect to the Internet, or affect how fast you can connect. The longer the cord the more likely you are to have slow or dropped connections. Also, you may need to get a back up phone cord in case the cord you intend to use is damaged. If you buy a new modem, an extra phone cord is usually included.
After all that then you can move to meet an Internet service provider to have their modem or dial up. and their setup for the dial up giving to you. From there have a wonderful browsing and meting people

Send indicator of the modem is flash and online indicator is off

If the "Online" indicator is not on, then the modem does not have an internet connection. The only thing you can do is unplug the modem for 15 seconds and plug it back in. Wait 30 seconds for it to cycle and the lights should all come back...if the "Online" light still does not go on, then you need to contact your internet service provider.

Well i had just bought a lynksys router from my friend with no software cd so right now i am trying to download the software online so when i switch my cox modem with the linksys modem i want the software...

You should be able to get any software that you need from LinkSys.com but I have a couple of quick questions first:

1. Is the LinkSys unit you just purchased a router or modem?

If the unit is a router, you are still going to need a Cox compatible modem. If the unit is a modem, you will still need a router to complete the network setup unless LinkSys makes a combination cable router/modem, and I haven't been able to research one.

2. If it is a modem, is it a cable modem and, if it is, is it Cox compatible?

According to the Cox Web Site, the only models of LinkSys modems that are currently compatible with the Cox High Speed Cable Internet Service are:

BEFCMU10 v3
BEFCMU10 v4
WCG200
WCG200 v2
CM100

In this particular case, you may need to contact LinkSys and/or your Internet Service Provider. In most cases, they will not only tell you exactly what type of equipment you need, they will also talk you through setting up the network once you have the equipment - usually at no charge.

Can't locate a Modem connection

Ok, First off, Yes, if you have a plug in the back of your computer that allows a standard phone connection wire from computer to the wall, that usually means you have a modem. If you have the ability to get Broadband internet, my suggestion is to get that instead. Its more reliable and doesnt have an automatic disconnect feature that AOL has always had. Also, if you already have broadband, then you can connect with AOL directly through the broadband connection and skip the Modem use entirely. Best i can tell you, other than if your computer is not finding the modem, that means its been either disabled or is missing the drivers.

Connection Problems

If you are able to send and recieve emails then your dial-up modem is working. For some reason your "Earthlink Browser" is looking for a high speed connection,(like DSL or Road Runner cable). Easiest step to take would be to re-install your Earthlink dial-up software program, but remove existing program under "Control Panel" (Add or Remove Programs).
