First question is do you have the vista disk ? If so , here are the steps to repair. Insert disk ....instead of selecting install vista , after the language selection box , select repair a menu will then be shown with the options you can choose from , choose start-up repair , this will repair missing files or disk errors. once selected no more input is needed from you. Hope this helps !

My windows launcher has stopped working

Hi,

Try using System File Checker to scan your OS for missing/corrupt files, complete these steps:
Click Start, and then type cmd in the Start Search box.
In the results area, right-click cmd.exe, and then click Run as administrator. You will be prompted to type the password for an administrator account. Click Continue if you are the administrator or type the administrator password. Then, click Continue.
At the command prompt, type Sfc /scannow, and then press ENTER.

The scan may take some time, so be patient. Windows will repair any corrupted or missing files that it finds. If information from the installation CD is needed to repair the problem, you may be prompted to insert your Windows Vista CD.

Hope this helps you. Let us know either way. Make it a great day!

Good luck!
And Thanks.

That is an infections that doing that to your computer. You can stop the shutdown by running this command before the countdown reaches zero. Type this command from the Start->Run box:

shutdown -a

This should kill the countdown. However, you will have to get that infection removed from your computer.

Booting is delay so much time

Try the following steps:

1. Tap "F8" key while computer is starting
2. Select "Safe Mode" from the startup options menu.
3. If the computer boots in safe mode, restart the computer and check if the problem still exists

This could happen if the BIOS update has created some changes which are not compatible with Windows Vista. Try updating the BIOS again.
