Question about Cameras

Pc does not read images from memory card

I have a promaster memory card in which the images can be retrieved on my girlfriends pc (xp) automatically. However when I try the same operations on my system (same, pc, xp) there are no images available. I get a bootex file which seems to detect the card (2gigs free space, 6 hidden files, 3 folders,954 files,1/2 gig free etc.) but no images.
I tried to directly link my cannon using their usb cable and can control the camera from the pc(web cam) but when I try to download images, the same, no images available.

Do I need to configure something in my system to receive the images? I've contacted promaster and they seem to think it's my pc not their cable or card, while contacting microsoft they could assist me for a fee, I'm using that as a last resort to solving this
Thanks for any input you might have...

SOURCE: HA90 MP3/WMA player

When I was looking at this product, I contacted the manufacturer and they made it clear the unit worked best with a 512 mb or smaller card. The problem is not with Sandisk or the SD manufacturer, it is with the HA90.

SOURCE: USB

there might be a problem with your cord/cable (a cord/cable that will enable you to connect your cam to PC).pls try to connect the cable firmly if still does not work pls try to get your memory card from your cam and put it in a card reader. That way you may be able to download pics from your cam to your PC.

NOTE: some card readers may need an adapter to be fitted in an SD size card for example i have an micro SD memory card i will need an adapter to fit the micro SD to SD.like this picture

youll be needing this to insert it in a card reader
this is an example of an ordinary card reader

this is an example of a universal card reader

SOURCE: kodak easy share SV 811

I had the same problem. I use kodak easyshare software and load my pics on to that. Then put all the pics you want in the picture tray. Have your frame plugged into the computer with your usb cord. Then go up to File menu and drop down to "copy to". On my computer it is Folder "E" which is the drive the frame is connected to. Then pick from the Resize drop down menu " best for picture frame', then click copy. You will see the program loading all the pics to E drive. When done, unplug usb cord and you will see it loading on your pic frame. As easy as this is to do, I found it frustrating as well, but when it works, it is easy. Hope this helps

It is always ideal to transfer the images from the memory card to prevent such a failure. It is possible that the memory card has failed and so you are not able to detect on the PC. Please try the card with a different PC to confirm.

Hello

Please follow these steps:

insert card> turn on cam to auto> press review> "reading memory card" > press menu> scroll down to image storage> press ok to select> select INTERNAL MEMORY> press ok

scroll down to COPY> Copy pictures to memory card> scroll down to all> press ok
message to expect: "copying"

when it goes to back the menu screen
scroll to IMAGE STORAGE again and select AUTO> ok> "reading memory card"

This should do the trick.

The camera (Vivicam 3330) apparently needs a driver to retrieve images from its internal memory. Where can I find this driver? PC is running XP but I have access to other operating systems.

This camera can use an SD card up to 128mb. If you insert the card into the camera and go into the menu to find "copy", you can copy the internal memory to the card. Then, you can use a card reader to download from the card to your computer.

Saving images from S5 Pro directly to laptop hard drive -how?

Hello Brian,

Are you writing to the camera memory because your card is full?

I'm not sure what USB auto/fixed is meant to do but try this.

Connect you camera to the pc as normal and switch the camer on.

The camera may ask you if you want USB or pictbridge, choose USB.

XP Then tries to offer you the best way to get at the photos. Rather than use the transfer option us the open as a folder option.

If XP doesn't offer anything click and open my computer, look for your camera it will appear as a new hard drive.

Click on the new hard drive, normally with olympus you get a folder, the first is you camera memory, click on that you should see photo's and another folder.

Copy or cut and past the photo's to a new folder on your PC. The click on the last folder, should be you memory card, move those photo's as before.

Having copied all photos you can delete them from you camera memory and card using the PC. Just as you'd delete any file.

With luck you should be back in action, a whole card to fill................. Good Luck.

Wrong SD cards????

Your printer may have issues reading SDHC memory cards. The Secure Digital 2.0 standard (SDHC) is not backwards compatible and requires SDHC compatible devices in order to function.

Image upload

??? These cameras take standard CF cards (and store images in standard JGP format) that can be 'read' directly by PC's with a multi-media card slot.

If your PC does not have a card slot, you can buy a USB CF Card Reader/Writer for a few dollars ..

PS always reformat the CF cards in the Camera not the PC ..

Memory card format.

The Polaroid PDC 700 digital camera accommodates an optional, Type 1 ATA compatible CompactFlash memory card up to 48MB. When an unformatted memory card is installed in the camera, it is automatically formatted when the camera is powered on. WARNING: Once you format the flash memory or format a memory card, all images are erased and cannot be retrieved - they are gone forever! Before you format (erase) the flash memory or format a memory card, transfer the images to your computer.
