It crashed, damaged, broke. Probably during writing and can have a lot of causes. You can try to repair it but if it did crash try it and by a new 1. You never know, but i doubt reparing will do any good. Get you're wallet after the try and buy a new one. Sry but i think you have no choice. But before you spent money google it a lot, but without circumstances others probably can't tell you what happened too (like is it old/new, where you doing anything specific [install/continuous writing/etc], brand & type).
Sry i couldn't help you more, try to repair and try to get more answers, but you will probably not learn what exactly happened, big question is are just some sectors damaged (think not) or was it a fatal damaging (think so).

I have a Samsung HD321KJ it boots ok and runs ok but every now and again it will freeze in windows and the drive clicks. It goes really slow and if I leave it alone it seems to sort itself out! Any Ideas?...

usually the clicking sound is the drive is trying to access a certain sector and cannot just stay on that sector,if the drive is booting that is a good sign it might have some life left, need to do a system restore this will mark bad sectors so drive wont look there, and reload all prgrams fresh and should take care of problem back up all files you wish to keep

Making alot of noise when computer is on and running

Hi ,
If the noise comes from your HDD , this is bad news because it's telling you it's about to crash .
Make an urgent back up of your entire system and install a new Hdd in your unit .
With Windows 7 , the back up is easy to create : go to Start and tic " back up entire system " and follow instructions .
In other systems , use a third party soft like Acronis from
Best regards .

Computer is not recognizing my external hard drive

If the light won't blink, there could be problem with the power source. Do scanning hardisk for errors manually ( take off the hardisk from the case, assemble it on other PC Desktop)

I dropped my external hard drive, now it's making all kinds of mechanical sounds and won't mount using USB. Is data retrievalble?

You have what is called a 'Head Crash' on your Hard drive and the clicking/whriling noise is caused by your HDD trying to read the corrupted drive.
It is a 'physical' fault and in general you cannot recover anything unless you can 'read' it: if it is the case, use a HDD recovery utility.
(ps. you can get most of the data on a crashed HDD recovered professionally if it is critical but it is 'very expensive'!)
Hope it helps!

Hard disk can not detect and giving beep randomly. hard diisk is from seagate and capacity is 80 gb

Hello there..i have experience with same problem like this...there is two problem with hardisk: first with the mechanic platter inside your hardisk ( you can hear noisy sound from inside HDD) 'cause by wrong prosedure when turn off the pc or problem with chipset on hardisk board (you can see the small green pcb board at other side of your hard disk) touch that board...if feel hot yes there is problem.this problem cause by electrical shock from your power supply unit or you not plugin correctly to hdd power socket.

solution for first problem :
send it to nearest seagate 'cause they have all the parts that you need

solution for second problem:
replacle the board with same tipe and size of your hdd..and it will work again and you can safe your data.but if not...nothing you can do it

Most likely if it makes sound then it is getting ready to crash, don't take a chance and remove your files and replace.
