I recently had the heating element replaced on my whirlpool electric dryer model #LE5800XSW3. Prior to replacement, clothes dried completely in one cycle. After replacement the clothes take at least two...

Your dryer has some internal ductwork. If it gets clogged, your dryer can't dry properly. In most dryers, to get to the internal ductwork to clear the clog, you have to substantially disassemble the dryer. A quick way to check for internal clogs is to remove the lint filter and use a flashlight to inspect the inside of the duct. If it looks clogged and you can't clear it using your vacuum.
Frequently there's an obstruction in the vent duct from the dryer to the outside of the house. For the dryer to heat properly, the duct must be clean and clear of lint or any other substance.

My worldpool dryer truns but will not heat up??

Hi,

Thank you for contacting Fixya.com.

Often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it--electric heating elements aren't repairable. Check the thermal fuse (a heat-sensitive fuse that blows if the dryer overheats) that is mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse is about an inch long. It's usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing.
If the fuse has blown, it has no continuity. When this happens, your dryer either just stops heating, or it doesn't work at all. Be sure to inspect the venting/heating system before replacing the fuse to put the dryer back into operation.

Please check the bellow link to have an in-depth knowledge as to when the dryer wont heat up...

MY dryer stoped working

I need your model number to be more helpful. You can start by checking your door switch if the dryer just won't start. You should hear a click from the door switch when you open or close it. If no sound then replace the switch. If the dryer runs, but no heat, often a dryers heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. I don't know anything about dryers so please bear with me. My dryer drum turns, fan blows, but wont heat. replaced heating element. Still no heat. Has 124 volts on both prongs of element. What should i do?...

Have you tried flipping the breakers @ your electrical box? Mine will do that at time when one breaker has tripped. It will have enough juice to run it but not heat it. IF that doesn't work there may be a broken wire to the heating element or possibly even a faulty heating element. I'd try the breakers first though.(Im not a professional I've just been a single mom for 18 years and have found myself working on all sorts of things and gaining knowledge from hands on experience) Hope it helps & works.

Dryer runs...timer wont rotate and wont heat up

Good day,
Timer woun't run if there is n heat.
1. Check to see you are getting 230 volts to the machine. The motor uses only 115 so is not a good indication.
2. Remove back cover. You will need an ohm meter to test the components.
A. In the center bottom is a skinny white bakelite device held on with one screw. Remove one wire and check. It should check zero ohms. If not replace.
B. On the bottom right is a canister with the heating element terminals sticking out. They should test at 30 or less ohms. If not replace the heating element.
C. There are about 3 other limit thermostats in the area you're working. They should all check at zero ohms. Replace as needed.

Below is a tutorial on changing a heating element.

Wont start up, just replaced the heating coil and it worked fine for a few days, now dryer wont start

check your wires and fuses next to the heating element. first one i would check is the white plastic one. that is a non resetable fuse.
