Question about Refrigerators
I have a 3 year old GE refrigerator, model # DSS25MSSESS from Home Depot. The water and ice dispenser stopped working even if the freezer still makes ice cubes. The dispenser light bulb also stopped working.
I replaced the whole control panel (part # WR55X10423), the light bulb and the ice dispenser solenoid but the dispenser still does not work.
I guess the next step is to replace the mother board but I would like to have your opinion before I spend more money.
Thank you in advance.

SOURCE: Frigidaire In Door Ice Dispenser
I had the same problem and just finished fixing it myself. 1st, slide out your ice bin about 3-4" and look underneath it. There will be a long brass rod running along the underside of the ice and goes into a little square hole below the ice maker. This rod runs the flap on the dispensor and keeps it closed for crushed ice and opens the flap for cubed ice. The is a plastic bar inside the little square hole that needs to be moved. Slide your finger onto the plastic bar inside the square hole and move it either up or down. Slide the ice bin back in and try cubed ice. If it doesn't work, move the plastic bar the other direction. This will fix your problem...........Good Luck! Dennis

Had the same problem. Pressed button heard a click, saw zeroes flash, then nothing. After some online search I found and solved the problem. Corrosion and condensation on the connector plug attached to the wire at the bottom of the freezer door. Remove plastic grill, pull out wire from under box. You'll find a plastic connector and possibly wet or corroded wiring. CUT POWER TO FRIDGE OFF FIRST. I cut away the white plastic connector then stripped and tied the wires together with wire caps. Taped them up too. Note which wire goes to which first. Mine was blue to blue, black to black, and red to white. Problem solved.
