Memory card error

Hello, ok I've only had the camera a couple of months. I had not backed up the photos yet from the memory card. I installed my battery after charging and received the memory card error, I then went ahead and took the card out and put it back in and it said there were no images. My question would be what did I do wrong, and how do I prevent this of happening again? Would there be any way of retreiving them from the camera itself would the images been automatically saved on the camera as well??? Thanks for any help..

Not sure what happened, but the pictures are not on the camera.
If the card was blank when put back, then they are lost.

You should always format the card on the camera once you have downloaded the pictures to the PC. This ensures the camera can read it and it is happy the card is OK. Don't rely on any cards formatted by a PC.

My camera says the memory card is locked and memory card error appears when I turn on the camera. I've read that I have to format the card, but won't the photos be destroyed? How can I get my pictures

There is a tab on the memory card so you will you need to remove it from the camera and change the position of this tab to "unlock" it. DO NOT format the card until you've BACKED UP your files from it (typically to a PC or USB drive (stick or external hard drive).

Hi, I've accidently deleted all photo's from my digital camera (vivicam 4345) and I was wondering if there is any way of getting these back?! Thanks Laura

Take no more pics until you've recovered your photos, take the card out of the camera. This is to reduce the chance of you overwriting some of your "lost" photos. There are many good freeware photo recovery software options that may help you recover your photos. This article reviews and outlines several of the better ones:

I deleted photos ,on the camera, that I need. How do I retrieve deleted photos from the camera, garbage can or memory card?

First of all, you should stop saving any new files to you canon camera (or SD card) or taking new pictures with you camera.

Then find this card recovery software here

Here are the steps:

Step 1: Download and install the Digital Photo Recovery Software from
http://www.asoftech.com

Step 2: Connect your camera (or SD card, memory card etc) to you PC

Step 3: Scan the source drive where your lost pictures located.

Step 4: Recover the lost pictures and save them to another drive instead of the source drive.

Hello. There is a setting on C330 which you can change in order to use only internal memory. This needs to be changed back to the default.

All you have to do is to turn on the camera then go to Menu -> Setup Menu -> Format -> Internal Memory -> Ok.

I hope this will help!

I'm taking photos with my Samsung D860, and when I want to view the pictures taken, it says 'no image', 'file error' or 'card error'. Sometimes it also says 'card...

Hi,
Actually the camera is fine and the cause of problem is memory card, Mostly cheaper cards do this but the original cards don't. And as far as concern that you have lost many precious pics, No need to worry about it. Just install any recovery software on your PC and with the help of the software you can get back your pics, Secondly, shift all your pics on memory card in your PC and then format the card through camera, this will solve your problem.(Remember that run recovery software before you format the card if you need to get back your data from memory card)
Thanks

Can i get my photos back, i formatted my canon powershot S3IS camera?

Hello

Ok, yes, you will be able to get some, if not all of your photos back. Firstly we will need to download Discdigger in order to perform the recovery operation.

Once the download is complete, you will need to install the software. After the installation process, you will need to place you memory card into your computer, using an adapter. Now, run DiscDigger on the memory card.

Hope this can be of help.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Kind regards
Andrea
