You need a new Motor. The thermal overload on the motor shuts it down, until motor cools down.

My kennmore dryer wont start. sometimes when i disconnet the power it seen to work but after a while it wont work and also smells like burn model #66932691

Hi, It sounds like maybe a motor over heating. If you can use it one load and try to restart it, and nothing happens, wait one hour and try again. If it starts, it is probably the motor. Does any of this sound like your simptoms?

Kenmore Elite Dryer stopped working

most of the time if you push the start and it drags the motor is getting to weak to turn the drum(bad motor)if it's not heating also,it might be the heating element or the heater box fuse.if it was me i would sell it on craigslist for parts, and buy another one on craigslist(great deals)

We must wait one hour to dry 2nd load

you have a bad motor the internal overload is cutting it off when the motor gets hot and that is why it takes about a hour for it to cool down before it will come back on the fix is replace the motor which is very expensive or buy a new dryer

Heating Problem

If this is a gas dryer, you probably have bad valve coils, they can work intermittently, usually for the first part of a cycle, but when they heat up the internal resistance gets too high and they fail to open the gas valve. Once they cool off, (by continuing to air dry) they will work again for a few minutes. They will also make a buzzing/rattling (maybe "metal" ) noise as voltage is applied. For any Kenmore gas dryer, get part #279834 it contains both valve coils. Very easy to replace. Another possibility is that your duct work is plugged, check airflow. Hope this helps.

Kenmore Dryer works for about 20 MINUTES, not seconds

SD, doesn't sound like the same problem. Yours sounds more the like motor kicking out on overload and when it cools down you are able to start it again. The thermal fuse and high limit TCO are non resettable so you can rule them out. You are going to have to check some things out. Make sure the rollers and pulley are not binding. The blower wheel is not binding. These things will cause a drag on the drum and put a heavy load on the motor. Catriver...post back
