Question about Daewoo DV-T8DN VHS VCR

1 Answer

My DV-T5DN won't turn on...

I have this VCR from Daewoo, model DV-T5DN (looks the same, maybe same product?). The other day it turned off on its own. Whenever I try it turn it on, the light indicating the power is on flashes a few times but the VCR never turns on. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? Thanks.

I'm having the same problem - the power light flashes. I tried someone's solution of unplugging for 20 seconds and plugging back in, but unfortunately, that didn't resolve the problem.

20 seconds, 20 minutes...it doesn't matter. that light blinks and mine stays on unless there is a tape inside. it won't play, rewind, ff...just shuts off and when you turn it back on it ejects the tape. it has eaten a tape as well. i just hate to buy a new combo, since i already have a DVD player...any suggestions

I bought a used Daewoo DVK47N VCR player which works fine but i can't get the menu to come up. It will record if I push the record button and it plays back just fine but I can't program it.

You say "used" it may be the person who sold it you gave you the wrong remote. I should look around on Google for the model number and the number on the remote, to see if the two match up. If you have the manual it will often list the remote number. If you don't, try the Daewoo website, sometimes they have free PDF's of manuals. You could also ask them if the remote matches your model.
Otherwise it could be a fault in the electronics section of the VCR.

I PLAY A TAPE IN THE VCR BUT,THERE IS NO PICTURE BUT, I HAVE SOUND.

Well, it probably is not the tracking, but try to adjust it anyways. Most newer VCR's have auto adjust, but it won't hurt to try. Also, can you get into the menu settings? Maybe someone (a child) pressed the wrong video setting. If you can't get into the menu, look for a reset pinhole in the back, unplug it and reset it.
