This is old pc or bios, the reason it doesn't recognise a larger hard drive is because the bios doesn't support 64bit addressing, therefore you need a bios flash to update it. i need the motherboards full model number and i can see if i can locate one for you

Bios password unknown

Hello download the manual from here:

http://www.foxconnchannel.com/ProductDetail.aspx?T=motherboard&U=en-us0000341

The k model:

http://www.foxconnchannel.com/ProductDetail.aspx?T=Motherboard&U=en-us0000343&Language=en-us

The manual is in the pdf format so you need adobe reader to read the content.

Power off the computer and make sure that all is unplugged.

Open up your computer case. You need physical access to the motherboard to complete this procedure.

Find a circular, (mostly) silver metallic object on the motherboard. This is the CMOS battery.

Take out the CMOS battery.Press a small lid to release the battery Leave it out for longer than 5 minutes.
Next insert the battery again. And power up the pc again This will clear all BIOS settings, including the password. Keep in mind that you will have to enter the BIOS date, time, boot, and other settings.

Remember to save all the settings when you leave the bios.

Look for basic bios setup setttings in the manual.

Good luck

Disk boot failure

Your hard drive is missing from the system. Or, just does not recognize it. The obvious - Remove any USB devices like drives and any media from disc player. Its trying to load, but can't find bootable hard drive, CD, or USB... Remove the hard drive and re-seat (reconnect). Check BIOS by pressing an F key during boot. Look on the screen for correct Function key. Might be F2 key. Verify BIOS recognizes the drive. It must be listed! There is no going forward if it's not. Check boot order and make internal hard drive first. Save and restart.

Any hard drive larger than 130GB have to be installed using Windows XP SP2. Windows disks, Pre SP2, will not recognize the large hard drive on 130gb of drive.
