How do i fix a corrupted HHD on my ps3 without deleting my information.

That's a tricky one. I make no guarantees, but check out the Playstation 3 Safe Mode.

I would start with option 2 (Restore Default Settings). Apparently this guarantees it will preserve your information and attempt to fix the PS3.

If it doesn't work, move on to option 3 (Restore File System). This one makes no guarantees; you might lose your information, but hey you might fix the problem and still have your info!

---Everything after this point wont' save your information---

Finally, there's options 4 (Rebuild Database) and 5 (Restore PS3 System). These delete everything, but you should be able to get your hard drive back to working condition.

But if for some reason it doesn't go back to working, you could just replace the hard drive. The PS3 uses standard 2.5inch SATA laptop/notebook hard drives (5400 or 7200 RPM). They can be found online at any computer parts website; for example, Tigerdirect.

Alternatively,
you could send the PS3 back to Sony. If you're under warranty it's free; otherwise it's expensive (150$ I believe). They won't save your information, but they will get your PS3 working again.

Just so you know, anything you purchased on the PSN store (DLC/games) can be re-downloaded for free. All your trophies are saved online too (assuming you synced it). You'll just lose local content (game saves/data, pictures, videos).

Hope you can salvage it; good luck!

i have had problem before i did 2 things i unplugged and replugged internet cable and wireless router cable and had to delete all info concerning the game i was playing when it happened (incase of corrupted data they REALLY mean it when they say do not turn off power game is saving) I tried both of these which one fixed it im not sure worse case scenario you have to console restore which deletes all info off console and hardrive giving it a fresh slate to start off with no chance for corrupted info

HOW DO I RESET MY PLAYSTATION 3 NETWORK ACCT. I FORGOT MY USER ID AND PASSWORD . IF I RESET IT WILL I LOSE ALL MY SAVED INFO SUCH AS GAMES AND PICTURES

No, you will not lose all of your data, as your network ID is not your gaming profile, which is saved to your hard drive. As long as you can answer the security questions, you can reset your name and password with minimal fuss. Thanks.

My playstation 3 crashed on cod mw2 and now wont play games

first call would be to sony, this is a common sign that the blu-ray disc reade ris knackered. i know it still plays dvd's and cd's but so did mine when the reader went on it. word of warning if sony send out an engineer to take your playstation away for repair remove the hardrive as they wipe them before returning it to you, and nothing worse than losing all of your saved data and profile info.

How do you delete xbox360 achievements

Make a new profile or reformat your hardrive. You can't redo them otherwise. YOU WILL LOSE ALL OTHER DATA!

Can't save in Pokemon Pearl.

yes sadly you will lose all data and have to start a new file, your file probably got corrupted, make sure there is no dust where you insert the game(try a can of compressed air 4 or 5$ ) & try again if that doesn't work sorry, but from now on make sure not to move or bump the part of the game that is exposed when the ds is on. Good luck

Ps3 hard drive is saying its full when it shouldn't be

When you install a game it can sometimes install the whole game so theres no loading issues. (e.g grand theft4 3gb ish) if you go into saved game data it should tell you what games are installed, if you hit triangle and select info. it will tell you the size of the file. delete any games you dont use, and dont worry about your saves as they are in the game saves section.

Unfreeze

No, sounds like your internet connection or DVD drive. Mostlikely the DVD drive. Check you disk too.
