Re: "Internal Error" Message

Try holding [left][right][2nd][on], that reinitializes the calculator and clears the ram. If that doesn't work you could try reinstalling the OS (refer to manual for details). If it still doesn't work, you will probably have to call TI.

Argument checking!

The calculator does have several error message concerning the argument. For the Request( command the syntax is
Request(Message, VarName)
What you type is stored as a string. It is only after you try to convert it to a value that the calculator looks at its content.
Here is an example where the variable VarName is x
Request ("Variable x", x)
I enter a complex number, manipulate it mildly with no apparent problem. However when I try to convert it to a numerical expression, and store it in the variable x, y, theta, I get a message Error non-real result.

How do I clear ERR:SYNTAX on my TI-84 plus?

When you get an error message you can clear it by pressing the CLEAR button. To prevent the calculator from firing off that message, you have to look at the command you entered. The message says SYNTAX ERROR meaning thet the way you typed in the command and its argument is incorrect. Usually you get a quit or GO TO with any message. To see exactly where there is something wromg select the oprion GO TO and the cursor will be at the exact point where there is an error.
Unfortunately one cannot help you here because you do not specify the command, nor what you wer trying to do when the meassage popped up. The message is generic and not specific. There are scores of commands and an unlimited number of ways to write them wrong.

What is ERR:SYNTAX on ti-84 plus calculator

If you want to correct the error you will have to disclose what you were trying to calculate.
Anyway, each command has to be written in a specific way ( a specific sequence of symbols) to be understood by the calculator.
Foe example, if the command is sin(X) you cannot write it as sin() X or X sin. You must respect the way a command is to be entered, otherwise you get rubbish or a SYNTAX ERROR message.
Usually the calculator will ask you GO TO or QUIT. If you choose GO TO the cursor will jump to the place where the error occurred and you may be able to correct the syntax.

My calculator will not convert .32 .24i into fraction form. It keeps giving me an error message. I have the TI-84 silver edition

The >FRAC command only works for real numbers. For complex numbers you have to convert the two components separately.

When i type anything into Y= the error message INVALID DIM comes up. What do I do to fix this?

I believe that you get the error message not when you type anything in Y= editor, but after you hit the {GRAPH] button. Anyway this is due to the fact that one of your statistical plots are active.

If you got the message while trying to draw a graph (that is your situation)
  1. Press [2nd][Y=] (STAT PLOT)
  2. Choose option [4:PlotsOff][ENTER]. Screen displays Done
If message popped up while doing something else that involves lists or matrices, the length of lists may be different, or the dimensions of matrices may not be compatible.

To Clear the lists:
  1. Press [2nd][0] (CATALOG)
  2. Press [PGRM] (C) to jump to first command that starts with c.
  3. Use arrow to scroll down to ClrAllLists, select it [ENTER]
  4. Calculator displays Done
  5. Start the new problem.
To reset the Ram press [2nd][ ] (MEM) [7:Reset][1:All Ram][2:Reset]. Press [CLEAR] to erase the Ram Cleared message.

When the RAM is cleared, the calculator is reset. The calculator resets itself after a battery change.

Hello, when i try to put some teks on my TI 84+ he gives an error

Anything you enter is interpreted either as a number or a command. if the calculator does nor recognize what you write as a number or a command it gives you an error message.
If you want to use your calculator as a text editor ( a very poor one at that) you should download and install the NoteFolio application. It may already be on your calculator.

My 1-var stats button is not working it says the

You will have to report faithfully the message returned, you cannot use your interpretation of the message. Error messages are codified. Each one will correspond to very particular error conditions. I did check the manual for all possible error messages and there is none that states wrong info.

My hunch is that there are errors in your data, but I can't say what type of error: I do not have the actual message returned. Verify you data, item by item, and try again.

To make sure that the calculator is well configured to do statistics
  1. Press [STAT][5:SetUpEditor][ENTER]
  2. Press [2nd][0] (CATALOG) and press [PRGM] (C) to jump to the first command starting with C.
  3. Scroll down to [ClrAllListsts] and press [ENTER]
  4. Calculator replies Done
Restart your statistical data entry.

Hope it helps.

Error message:

If you were trying to do paired-variable statistics the lists fo not have the same length, Check you lists and make sure they have the same number of elements.
If you were trying to draw graohs and you got this message, then you should turn StatPlots OFF. To do so press
Press [2nd][CATALOG] C. In the list of commands that appear scroll down a bit to reach ClrAllLists. Point to it and press [ENTER][ENTER]. Calculator displays Done.
Restart you graphs.
If you were using matrices, the dimensions may be incompatible for the operation.

If you had spelled what you were doing prior to the error message, I would not have had to guess.
Hope it helps.

Can not display the graphs of functions

I have a manual in another language than English, so I do no know exactly or remotely what procedure you refer to, but I have recreated an instance where one gets the error you talk about. I give you the picts.8147bde.jpg When I enter [Diamond][Graph] I get the following message.
The graph independent variable is x by default, yet I entered cos(f). The calculator is expecting a function of x and I give it a function of some as other entity. Hence the error message. On the command line you cannot change the argument of Y1. It is x by default.

Hope it clarifies things.
