Any PCIE video card will work in the slot provided, although some larger cooled ones may stop you using pci slot 1.

Go to ASUS Downloads

Type your model into the box in the upper left. Click Search Info.

When the model number comes up in the large window, click on it.

You must then select your operating system from the drop-down menu.

A list of availble drivers will then be displayed for download.

I have a ASUS P5GL-MX motherboard. When I turn on the computer I see nothing on the monitor. I had the opportunity to get my keyboard, mouse, monitor and even the memory checked out to make sure they are...

The operation of the onboard video is programmed into the board, so it should work without any drivers being needed. If you verified that the monitor is working then I'd say the onboard video had gone bad. Your motherboard has a PCIe x 16 slot so you can get around the problem by adding an aftermarket video card. The cheapest of them have quality that surpasses any onboard video and they can be found almost anywhere. Follow this link to see some suggestions.;55_158_13067_13067

No video output. what video cards are compatible?

Your MB takes a PCI Express x16 (max. 2GB/s, x4 mode) video card.

Please note the warning in your manual on Page 1-22 about using "Qualified" graphics cards. Here is a link to your manual:

If you are not getting video, have you tried to reinstall the VGA driver? Just a thought. You can get it by typing your model number into the search box on the Asus support site.(Just use P5GL-MX.)

My PC is starting but the monitor is not starting meaning the light of my monitor is blinking on and off and there is no display. So what should i do? Motherboard version=P5GL-MX.

First check your input devices, the keyboard & Mouse. If they are OK, i.e. no bent pins or try a working keyboard & mouse. If the motherboard beeps more than twice then remove the RAM from the slot, clean the contact points. If that too does not work check all connections as snug-tight.Remove all hardware accessories except for the HDD. Use the bootable OS disc and reload the OS..............sodeep

Memory Issues with P5GL - MX

Some motherboards require that you install the memory in matched pairs. That could explain why they won't work together.

When you put the 1 GB in alone, what slot did you put it in?
I would suggest the blue A1 slot (closest to the CPU).

It may be that you have a bad memory module.
You could try the Windows Memory Diagnostic:
