Printing slowly! Very slowly!

The printer (7450) has been great - but this past week it has started printing very slowly. . . . I don't know what's happended and what has caused it . . . any suggestions on what to do?

I don't have the software here - some of our stuff is in storage from our recent move.

Now I can't even get the printer to print. When I que something to print, it shows that it's waiting to print, says the printer is out of paper when it's not out of paper. What in the world is going on?

Check the printer quality. Print a draft quality print job and then a normal one. Report back the results.

Well thats no good!

Remove the printer and reboot your machine.

Go back into the print queue and remove the printer,

Add the printer and try to print a test page.

Hp printer 7450 won't print colored text from a word document. test page shows colors on the windows logo flag. changed the ink cartridge....color one that is....no help i will try to print something else...

It may be set for grayscale (black and white) in the print properties. Go into the print properties in Word and look for a color or black and white setting, either under Color Management or Advanced. Set it for color, and then print your color document.

I'm trying to print 11x17 from Illustrator and every time it would only print half of the 11x17. WHY? any help please?

May be you forgot the Page Setup. If it is: open, copy all (ctrl+A then ctrl+C), File|New, set page to 11x17, paste and re-position.
May be Print Setup is incorrectly configured. Check it by activate the Show Page Tilling option on the menu.

Printer keeps processing - nothing happens - no print

Not really sure about Mac, but if this happens on a PC, I would first uninstall the printer (software-wise) then download the latest drivers and install.

HP Photosmart 7450

Most printers have a photosensor on the head assembly and the assembly (as it moves back and forth) rides on a strip of plastic that is dark with clear spots. That is how the cpu in the printer knows where (left to right) the head asm is located. So, If that strip is broken, or dirty or if the sensor is dirty this can happen. The sensor could also be defective. Try using some canned air to GENTLY blow away any paper residue in that area and then reset the power to the printer. If that doesn't help, then the printer needs serviced.

Hope that helps...

HP Photosmart 7450 stuck cartridge

not a solution, my paper feeds past the point where printer5.gif would normally begin. Then flashing light changes from green to red and print operation stops. Printer cartridge1.gif appears to be stuck in far right area of cartridge track.

Replaced drivers as above and still have the same problem.
Mine started after I had replaced the color cartridge. Mailed the old one to HP already so can't put in old cartridge.

If I unplug printer from computer, I get same results. Does the driver software install in the printer?

HP 7450 printer doe snot start printing

this can be caused by power glitches blowing the drivers out. I'd connect the printer to it's own power strip, and then directly into the wall outlet. Do NOT plug any modems or wireless devices into the same power strip. Got backup?
