I've lost my ceiling fan remote and there is no other way to turn it on without replacing the entire fan. Can I replace the remote and where do I get one?

Heritage superfan model 4000hp fan does not work!

This fan has a unique dc motor and a proprietary controller. DO NOT USE A STANDARD CONTROLLER OR SWITCH. The controller is very rare and is no longer made or supported. The company was purchased by Casablanca Fans, but they offer no help.

Light or fan will come on with without remote

Most remotes use an X10 format that transmits over wires .. Odds are someone else in your neighborhood is on the same code. Does the light come on with regularity? If it does than that is your problem. Without knowing the exact model I can't tell you how to change the code. When you change it you must change the receiver and the transmitter

You can try a univeral remote and that should work. You can buy one online at: http://www.ceiling-fans-n-more.com/ceiling-fan-remote-controls.php

Remote receiver faulty

That is correct you need a new receiver for the fan. The other problem that could have happened is when you replaced the batter in the remote you accidentally hit the dip switches and changed them. That is the box that has 4 white switches on it. One is in the remote and one is one the receiver that goes in the fan.

Light not working by pull chain or remote.

I would try removing the remote part. Connect the two main (light & fan) wires direct to your house main. Then if the pull chain works then you just need a new remote unit.
