FE: Water inlet valve stuck open
Water valve is stuck open and needs to be replaced. The best way to check if the water valve is the problem is to remove the top cover, run the machine to get the water running. While the water is filling, remove the connector to the water valve that is filling. If the water continues to run without the connector, the valve needs to be replaced. If the water stops flowing when disconnected, you may have a control board problem and will need it to be replaced
The problem is going to be one of two related problems . All rinse cycles use only cold water and either the cold side of the water inlet valve is not opening and the cold rinse water is not filling the tub and the washer will sit and wait for ever till the tub is full so it can continue the rinse agaitate cycle. If yo do have a warm rinse try that or try filling on the start cycle with cold water wash and see if cold fills,if not the water inlet valve needs to be replaced. I have included a video showing you how to do that.The part number for that valve is 285805 it could be purchased at your local applaince store or online at;
The other potential problem is going to be the filter screen on the back of that valve is blocked and needs to cleaned. To check that turn off the water supply and disconnect the hose,pop out screen and see if its clogged.Also check for water flowing from the hose when disconnected from washer.
Good luck,i hope this helps you to fix your washer.
Just read your posting.Now just a couple of questions.Are you using a warm fill for the wash or cold?if are using warm try cold only and take note of the time it takes to fill.I don't think your cold water is filling properly. My manual says that with only the 1st rinse light working it is your control module that is faulty. Please try a cold water wash and reply back so we can rectify this problem.
Does it flood the room as it continues filling? If not maybe the outlet house isn't high enough - it need to rise up at least a couple of feet to prevent the water from syphoning out as fast as it goes in.
If the water is going in but only slowly, check the water valves in the line to the machine, and also the inlet filter gauze, to make sure they are not clogged.
If these suggestions do help you solve the problem, please give my reply a rating to help others judge my knowledge / guessing skills. If they do not, please hold off on the rating and add a comment with more details so I can try to help you further. Cheers, D
