Question about Photography

Olympus OM1 part fell out of the camera and I don't know where it goes.

I was not sure that the part you suggested was what fell out. This is a picture of the part that fell out of my OM1 camera. One side is flat and the other side has a curved shape to it. I hope this helps identify what it is.

Thanks for replying to my question.

That is the focusing screen to your Olympus. The tab you see goes to the right, as in the shiny side of the screen points down toward the mirror. The tab is the handle ( so to speak) for the screen. grab it only there as you can damage the rest very easily.

Fotonex 4000sl

The Fotonex 4000sl takes APS film cartridges.

You can find out more about the camera here:
http://camera-wiki.org/wiki/Fujifilm_Fotonex_4000ix_SL

Although branded Fuji, it was made by Olympus and is identical to the Olympus Centurion.

The Fuji version of the manual can be purchased here: http://www.oldtimercameras.com/stock/Model.asp?Model=8644&ModelPage=true

The manual is no longer supplied for free by Olympus as the camera is 18 years old.

I have a Nikon N65 and an AF Nikkor lens on it. The lens fell off some time ago, and now it does not lock in place.

The most likely culprit is a broken mount on the lens. Some Nikkor lenses have a plastic mount whose bayonet blades can break off when the camera is subjected to a shock. Since you neglected to specify the lens I don't know if this is the case with yours.

If you have access to another lens, try it. If that one stays on then the problem is with your lens. If that one doesn't stay on then the problem is most likely the mount on the camera itself, which is a more serious problem (unless the mounts on both lenses are broken).

My film advance lever jammed in my olympus OM 2000 how to fix it??

Consult a tech - DO NOT try to force it, doing so will damage the gears and cause further damage.

If you don't have a local repair shop, I'd recommend KEH Camera located in Atlanta, GA.

I have a minolta maxxim digital camara. when i go to shoot a pic it locks and won't take a pic. is it worth trying to fix? I have 2 lenses

Hi, It's hard to say if it's worth it to fix as I can't say how much you value the camera and how much the fix would cost. My suggestion would be to talk to a camera repair specialist, although I don't know where you live, I'd suggest Gus Lazzari who's based out of California. If you need anymore help let me know =)

I want to use my OM2000 Olympus lens for my video Canon XL1, do you know Olympus has built any lens adaptor to Canon XL? Reap

Olympus did not make adapter for OM lenses to be used on Canon XL1 but, if you are looking for the lens adapter, Novoflex XL-OM Lens Mount Adapter Olympus Lens to Canon XL-1, is the lens adapter that suppose to work.
B & H has this adapter for sale.

Need plastic ring on front of camera

The parts displayed below have been designated as consumer replaceable and based on your model may include battery covers, external windows, media card covers, sliding lens barrier doors (kits) and more. If the item you are thinking of replacing is not shown, it is not consumer replaceable and you should pursue a professional repair. I would suggest you contact Olympus Customer Service Group at 1-800 622-6372 option 2 and then option 3 , you may also contact that department by email at cpgwebmail@olympus.com
The items listed below are the compatible parts for the IS-3:
