1 Answer

My sony laptop won't turn on at all... no lights NADA!!

So it was working just fine I turned her off at night and the next morning I went to turn it on and NOTHING! Not even a light ... nothing!! Whats up with that? I am borrowing it from my ex.. I really don't want to have to tell him.. even though I didn't do anything wrong or different, I will most certainly be to blame -- yada yada:)~ Any awsome sanity saving tips to get this thing working again?

My Sony Vaio PCG-61611L won't power on, the battery is fully charged and AC adapter is working (green light goes on). Please help!

OverheatingWhen the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermaloverload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is theproblem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make surethe vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed airto do this.

My computer was working fine last night. When I was online, the dogs came running thru the room and pulled the cord out, from the wall AND the netbook. I closed the computer and this morning, nothing. ...

Try and take the battery out and leave the machine connected to the AC power and see if it will boot up without the battery. You may have shorted the battery out .

Dell inspiron 1525 won't turn on

Try to take out the battery and just use the adapter to power it on,
If your done with that then try just using the battery to turn it on, if it still won't give a single light.
If you can borrow an ac adapter for that laptop try it ,
If it still doesn't work. You'll need to replace the motherboard. Just make sure the ac adapter your gonna use is working good.

Power light on, nothing happens

Try holding down the power button for several seconds. This will shut down the PC. You should then be able to reboot the system.

When I boot up the screen is all colors and lines

It sounds to me like your cable is loose to the lcd or the video card is not properly 100 percent seeded into the mother board. Prolly the cable in one way or the other, perhaps bad cable.

It sounds like your backlight in the LCD screen has died. However your system should work with an external monitor. When you connected up the monitor to the VGA connector did you change the settings on the system to output to the VGA output ?
Try connecting the monitor before the computer is turned on - then once booted hold the Fn key and press F7. Then pause then press Fn and F7 again to see if you can get the external screen to show your screen. It sounds like a dead back light though.
