Are the Motorola Surfboard SB5101 and the Linksys wireless-g broadband router (WRT54G v.3) compatible? We bought the Moto and a friend gave us the Linksys. We hooked them up, but we haven't been able to use the wireless to access the internet (though we CAN access the router's page-thing). Is this because of a compatibility issue, or is it something we've done wrong? Thanks for your help!
You have to reset the modem from behind (little pin hole) with the modem and router not connected via ethernet, the let it restart and reset the router after both are reset connect the ethernet cable between them.
Ok fist connect the modem to a pc and use the comcast disk to install it after you are able to connect to the internet unplug the modem for 2 minutes them plug it into the router (make sure to reset the router before this) If it still does not work hook it back up to a pc and make sure you have an internet connection through the modem if not turn the modem off for another 2 min, if you do the go to start- control panel- network connection- right click the connection you use for internet- and click status and go to the support tab, Here you will record the IP address (write it down) then without reseting the modem disconnect you pc from it and connect you pc just to the router then go to your router page and enter the IP you wrote down as the routers IP then disconnect you pc the the router and connect the router to the modem, Before connecting your pc reset it then connect the cable.

The rest works fine. What's happening is that when we connect using the wireless, we can't access the internet. We are able to get the the router's online page, though. It's just a connection issue
That would be, "The reset works fine."
Router can not find Moto DHCP server
Modem does not have "pin hole" of any sort to reset?
