try playing with the throttle adjustment or it could be a saftey feature malfunction, like the seat shutoff for example.

I had a similar problem with a sears tractor. close to the carbarator is a rectangle box with a rubber hose going to the engine block - remove the hose and spray carb cleaner in the hose wait a few mins and try again - its a vacuum for the carb

SOURCE: Have Exmark 52 LazerZ with Kohler ch25 engine.

try looking for a broken wire or a wireing harness shorted to ground, the fuse blowing in the harness will lead you to it if you are able to see where the wire goes. you have a short somewhere may be the fuel pump, too

I had this issue on my 14hp kohler and it was the ignition module. Would run until it heated up then shut down.

Diaphrams can be tricky sometimes...seating can be irritating. If carb disassembled and cleaned out...might have to check adjustments. Make sure screw didn't get loose. I had one do that before when governor broke.

Engine stroke on bumps

  1. Engine mount issue: If your car's engine mount is worn or damaged, it can cause the engine to move excessively when you hit bumps or rough roads. This movement can cause the engine to momentarily stall or hesitate.
  2. Fuel delivery issue: If there's an issue with fuel delivery, such as a clogged fuel filter or a weak fuel pump, it can cause the engine to momentarily lose power when you hit bumps or rough roads.
  3. Electrical issue: There could be an issue with the electrical system, such as a loose or corroded connector, that's causing a momentary loss of power to the engine.

Engine runs great for 10 minutes and then stalls. Won't start until is sits 3-5 minutes. Replaced fuel lines, filter, cleaned carb., replaced spark plug. What else could be causing this?

Believe it or not, your gas cap is clogged up with dirt and debris. When a carburetor is unable to get a constant flow of air from outside, pressure builds up on the fuel tank. The fastest way to determine whether or not this is the problem is as follows.

As you are using your Mower, at that point when it begins to stall out, loosen the gas cap so that you release the pressure that is built up in the gas tank. If the engine begins to regain power, then you know it is a clogged gas cap. (Simply get a small wire and clear the breathe holes in the cap.) If the engine dies even after loosening the gas cap, then you may want to check to make sure the air breather is clean. ( A dirty air breather can cause the engine to over heat and stall out.)

If none of this seems to help, then it is probably a bad Ignition Coil.

Good Luck!

Engine stalls when throttled

clean air filter fuel filter and fuel tank and lines. Then the varb needs to have the bowl removed to allow the float to be removed,(carefull to not loose fuel needlle or retaining spring.)The jet and orfaces should be cleaned (when the jet is removed be sure the seat for jet goes back the same way....the seat and jet have a rounded shape that fits closely together, not round and flat together.)Ok so be sure not to adjust anything, just clean it and put it back together.Using carb cleaner is the best, you should have mot of the can leftover.Dont let it get on anything (except the carburetor) it will ruin paint and the finish on your engine if you let it!

Craftmen tractor w/ Kohler engine stalls out continually

Sounds too lean.
Can you cover the air intake with your hand 90% or use the choke a bit and then load the engine to see if it runs better?
If you ever find a carb with manual high and low mixture adjustments that will fit yours......put it on and keep it on.
You can usually get then from older tractors.
