Can't remember windows password on my netbook

go into the log in page - hit "forgot user ID" - they will email you a new one or email you a link to pick a new one - use at least 8 characters. Then go back to log in enter & enter your new user name. Try your old password - if that doesn't work, hit "forgot password" & they'll let you reset.

According to me you can use windows xp installation disk to recover your password. If you don't have windows installation disk then you can use stellar phoenix password recovery software to do so.

There is a hidden Administrator account that is created when your operating system is installed. Access that account and then reset your password.

1. Boot your computer and press F8 repeatedly
2. Access Safe Mode
3. Key in "Administrator" in Username, with no password.
4. Go to Control Panel, then User Accounts
5. Select the account you want to reset the password
6. Change the password.

Which operating system? If its Windows, you can try going to safe mode. There might be the default administrator account you can log into and remove your account password. If not, you are going to have to format and perform a clean install of your operating system.

That depends on a couple of things. First, did you give an administrator password? If so, let's hope you remember that one. If not, then this should go rather smoothly.

When starting up the netbook, hold the f8 key down. Once this is done, you should get a screen that asks how you wish to boot up windows. Your choices should be something along the lines of:
Start windows normally,
Safe mode with networking,
safe mode without networking (or maybe it's just safe mode),
or start windows with the last known good configuration.

We want to select safe mode. Windows will load, and it will take you to the log in screen. Log in as the user "administrator". Go to start/control panel/user accounts. Select the user you want to clear the password for, click change password, and clear all the characters from the box. Click ok and restart. You will then be able to log into that user and reset your password.

at Windows XP's Welcome Screen, simply press Ctrl-Alt-Del keys sequence together twice, and you will be shown a Log On to Windows menu where you can specify the User Name and Password. Then simply click start > control panel > User accounts then select your sons account and click edit then click remove password. once done simply log off and then log in to your sons account and no password will be asked for.
