Question about GPS

I purchased a NAVMAN S-150 GPS In-Car Unit last week from ****-smith online shop. I have been testing this device for several days now. Why is it that the various touch screen buttons respond differently at various many, many times. A button may respond easily to light finger pressure or tap, at other times, top heavier finger pressure or tap, at other times to sustained finger pressure, and at other times not to respond at all. I am not referring to a single particular touch screen button or bar - refer to a variety of them, responding to various finger pressures or taps at different times. In fact, it's getting to be too annoying because it makes it difficult for me to go through the different menus and areas of the navman unit. Is there anything wrong with my device?

    Same device Navman 150 purchased 30 Nov 08 and immediately found the touchscreen performance was very erratic and poor. Both my wife and myself has trouble . Frequently you had to touch it multiple times to get it to change.

    I took the unit back to th retailer and they have been very resistant to doing anything, in fact they looked at it and said it was normal and we needed to get use to it. We are still in discussions as we are not happy with the unit at all. I tried a TOM TOM and the touch screen of it was much more responsive and what I will call normal.

I have the same problem, the s150 touch screen is pathetic, Got the same story from Strathfield Car Radio..it was normal and had it in for repairs twice when the screen went crazy with vertical lines, same fault both times. I went back to using my s50 and will sell the s150, it is a highly complex, very pretty lemon. They wont refund you or give map upgrades for inconvenience caused by their faulty product. To sum the s150 up. A truly Miserable experience. Rate it out of ten? its a minus.

I need a copy of the original CD which came with my Navman S70 (I've misplaced it)....can I download from anywhere?


Unfortunately, Navman provides their proprietary maps data on the CD that originally came with your Navman S70, so it is not available online to download legally.
You should contact their support team. Contact info can be found at the following address:http://www.navman.com/in-car/europe/uk/Customer-Support/
They should be able to direct you to a secure link for download or send you a new physical CD. Proof of purchase may be required, but you should not have any issues if you explain your situation to the Navman representative.

Navman MY75T was working fine for several weeks, but today it won't start up. Tried to reset several times, but no luck. It gets to the Safety Agreement screen, and when I press the "Accept"...


1. Connect Navman GPS to PC viamini-usb cable. 2. Go to 'Start' 3. Go to 'My Computer' 4. Open the 'Navman' folder 5. Open the 'Database' folder 6. Delete the following file only- 'dababase.db' 7. Close the folders 8. Disconnect the mini-USB cablethen restart the Navman GPS by sliding the switch to 'Restart' then back to'On' after 10 seconds. The unit shouldstart & the database.db file will be re-generated automatically.

If you need to update your maps, check this site for downloading instructions and downloadable ISO files for installing the more current maps. They may or may not be free, depending on your previous map purchases. They also sell the upgrade software, but its a little pricey. They are located in Australia.

This is a fault with the internal memory chip failing. It can not be fixed and requires the unit to be sent to Navman and the chip replaced.

Return your GPS to the place of purchase and they will complete the return for you if you've had it less than a year. You will need a repair ref number from Navman before sending it back.
This would cost you if the items out of waranty.

The maps for Australia are distributed Via Navman and are Polstar. But no other maps for other brands aree compatible as they are all re jigged to only work o0n the brand of GPS's format.

Navman is distributed via **** Smith and Harvey Norman So if you dont get satisfaction from the Navman site ask the satff at one of these distributors how to purchase new maps.

No maps are free either.

Touch screen does not work, I think it is frozen Navman bought from **** Smith last year for father's day


Sorry, but the news is not good. The cost of repairs excees the value.
