Thanks. I discovered the problem- olive pits. It seemed one made its way inside the drain pump and stopped it from turning. You would think that Samsung would have some kind of grill to strain such small things like that out.Thanks. I discovered the problem- olive pits. I had this issue; previous owners of our house installed new garbage disposal, but did not punch out the plastic stopper on the disposal where the drain hose connects.

The code is 5E If your dishwasher is displaying error code 5E, It can be caused by a kinked drain hose. If the drain hose is kinked, there will be an excessive amount of water in the bottom of your dishwasher after a cycle has been completed. In order to access the drain hose you need access to the back of the dishwasher. If your dishwasher was recently installed, contact the installer to move the dishwasher and inspect the drain hose. If the drain hose is not kinked, but your dishwasher is still not draining, service is required.
The SE or 5E error code means "Draining Error", which coincides with what you observed. First check the drain hose for an obstruction, especially where it goes into the garbage disposer (and check the garbage disposer port to make sure it is clear too). If that's okay, then you will have to pull the dishwasher out to check the drain pump. Chances are, some foreigh object has gotten into the drain pump, and is blocking or partially blocking the water flow. If everything is OK, then you probably have a bad ECS sensor, and will have to replace it. If most of this is beyond what you want to do, at least check the hose at the garbage disposal end before you call a repairman.
Sounds like its not draining properly between cycles. Its time for an appliance engineer I'm guessing. Can you access the drain pump hose area to see if its clogged.
check the outlet pipe to see that the water can flow easily, not bent. It looks like that the dishwasher is unable to drain the water through the hose.

It's a fairly big job. You have to pull the dishwasher out from under the cabinet. Then remove the left-hand metal panel. You should now be looking at the case-brake assembly. Reach inside the dishwahsher and turn the water-inlet bezel counter-clockwise to remove it. Now you can tilt out the case-brake assembly and loosen the clamp that holds the drain hose in place. Pull the hose off (have a towel or Sham-Wow ready to catch the water). Then you have to remove the clamp or hose-restraint at the back of the dishwasher. Thaen you can pull the drain hose out and replace it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXHRPd8VisE The water level float switch needs to be cleaned. There is a micro switch on the assembly don't get the switch wet. This video will show you what to do.
SE (or 5E) on a Samsung DishWasher means Drain Error - Water not draining. Check the drain pump and drain hose for an obstruction; If that's okay, you will probably need to replace the ECS sensor.
Thank-you so much I was able to fix the problem. there was a small piece of plastic stuck in the pump house which was connected to the pump. Hopefully no more 5e errors ):
Firstly check the connection where the dishwasher hose connects to the drain. Remove this washe hose and see there is no stoppage at that piont. If all ok go to the dishwasher and see if there is no stoppage in the sump where the water goes out. If ok then the drain pump in the machine is either blocked or faulty. you will have to access this pump to be able to proceed further. good luck
