Piece of cake remove the two screwa and slide it out. On some you can just leave the control board dangling until you get the new one in. I always use a cresent wrench to turn the shaft of the motor after removing the set screw and spraying with wd40, Do not bang on shaft, once you cant get a bit with wrench: shake housing ill motor drops out.

Mark, It sounds like the gas valve may be bad. You may want a tech to diagnose and repair. There are other things to check also air intake and exhaust must not be plugged and the exhaust fan must be operational if equipped.
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Burning plastic smell when cold out run heater and fan inside car and out

Are you loosing radiator fluid. sometimes the heater core will rupture and you will smell burn odor. also check for strange rubbing sounds or screeching coming from the blower fan motor. or engine exhaust manifolds are hot when car is on, make sure nothing is leaning on them which will cause a burn odor. Any odor coming from outside will find it's way inside through the fresh air vents.

When the heater is on, should the fan outside on top of the unit also be working along with the blower from the heater ? When the heater is off, cold air is comming from the vent's, can I cover the

No. This is strictly a gas package unit, not a heat pump. the condenser fan motor should NOT run when their is a call for heat from the thermostat. The condenser fan only runs with the compressor on a call for cooling. Hopefully the compressor is not running @ the same time, but if it is, it would make sense that the contactor for the compressor & condenser fan motor is stuck closed OR the low voltage cooling wires are shorted straight to a 24Volt control wire.

Evaporator coils freezing up

no year, stated, nor model car. no engine size or country.

blown fuse.

there are lots of honda back to 1973, just a clue here.

if the heater blower stalled it can burn up.

what info, easy, the FSM , no FSM work blind

or use alldata.com , login and read, it .

smell from where, under hood or dash, gee?

the new resistor will stick until burned in, they smell like hot metal

and are. it just nichrome wire resistor and run very hot.

and are air cooled so the resistor dont burn up.

so a shop would make sure the motor (fan) is good first.

and make sure current is not over 15amps. motors can in fact

partially short and draw too much current not just go dead.

then the resistor, not first.

"but got hot" what got hot,. the cab air exiting the vents, the motor fan

or the what?

a dead fan, motor, check the motor, apply 12vdc to fan like the FSM shows and test the motor, if it spins fast,. check current.

ones that suck too much current run a little too slow. so.......

Odor in hot water

Change anode rod.
Typically, odors are caused by bacteria reacting with anode rod, and odor is eliminated by replacing anode rod.

On a rf 60 fan will not come on

If the flames come on, but the blower doesn't i would think it to be a bad fan motor. The easiest way to check without tools is to let the flames go for about 5minutes, then listen to hear a humming coming from the motor. If possable feel the motor, if it's hot, it's toast! be careful, as it might be hot enough to burn skin, so tap it first! If it's hot or humming, and not blowing, it's shot!!

RINNAI Heater 1001FT Gas heater; was wondering if water required?

It shouldn't give an odor at all unless it hasn't been run a lot or cleaned. Rinnai recommends blowing compressed air through the front grates once a year. The pan is to catch condensate from the venting system. Hot flue gases contain moisture, which is a byproduct of burning propane. When this hits anything below 212 degrees, it will condensate and collect in the pan. The heat from the unit evaporates the water, thus making it a good system of condensate disposal. However, additional water can be added daily if you have problems with dryness in the air. The only other thing that can cause a bad odor is a compromised heat exchanger. You should have it checked, and if you don't already, have a CO detector in the room

Carrier gas pack inducer motor

Sounds like you may have a bad connecton at the end, which end? if you follow the wires out of the motor they sometimes go to a MOLEX whitish plug. The wires treminate in this plug with PINS sometimes these PINS dont seat or come loose in the plug. Pull the plug apart and check the wires comming in from both directions. If they wont push or pull out of the plug either way they are seated ok. Check for a bent PIN while have it apart. If its worse and this dosnt fix it or its the end going to the motor consult www.carrier.com for a dealer near you. DO NOT USE A GENERIC MOTOR on your furncae as I believe it is a 2 speed and most generic motors ar only 1 speed. SOme of these gaspack motors have a centrifical switch and if this is your problem again consult with a carrier dealer. The price of the motor is secondary to safety and longvity of your comfort investment. If I knew where you lived I could make a better recomendation.
A viberation could mean a HORNET nest (using mud for their nest) could have been in place and reciently came loose and fell into the fan on the motor. carefully remove the assembly and inspect it for bent fan or shaft or maybe plastic and broken or metal rusted out parts.
If you need more information I need to know a few more things. If this helps you r not please grade accordingly and help me improve. THANKS AND GOOD LUCK.

You have a system that is 20 years old. The cost of the repair may be 1/2 of a new unit. This unit will continue to fail and only cost you more that you can expect to get out of it.

Foul rotting vegetable type odor in top of Kenmore refrigerator

If the icemaker motor or heater short out it will cause a foul odor. I have never heard it described as cooked broccoli, but it can be pretty bad. Remove the icemaker and inspect the bottom of it where the heater element is and remove the white cover of the motor and look in there. You can take the three screws out of the motor module and see if anything is burned on it.
If you can rule out the icemaker, the next things to check would be the evaporator fan motor and defrost heater. Generally, if a fan motor starts causing an odor it will stop running completely and if a defrost heater goes out it will quit defrosting. It is possible, but unlikely, that something has gotten into the evaporator area and is sitting on the defrost heater so that it is "cooking" during the defrost cycle.
Check the icemaker first, it is the most likely cause of the odor. Post back with complete model number if you need further assistance and we will go through checking everything else.
