Question about Minolta magicolor 2350 Laser Printer

Can't get the cartridges to rotate to replace

I need to replace the magenta cartridge. It has started making noises and stopped printing. I follow the menu instructions and can get to the replace:magenta, but when I give it the final command, it tells me that it can't rotate the drum. Cyan is always in the opening. I had similar problems when I replaced all of the cartridges a few years ago, but somehow managed to get them all replaced. The machine is about 4 years old.

You can rotate the toner carriage manually, in fact it's a lot faster than doing them one at a time via the control panel by opening and closing for each color. There's a release button you need to press on the right hand side of the open panel. The trick is to rotate it so that the "escape channel" for the cartridge lines up properly. I had a similar problem in that after changing one of the cartridges (I bought a whole set), the message "cannot rotate cartridge" appeared. I tried pressing the cartridge in more firmly and may have caused the carousel to rotate a little in the process. I cycled the power which seemed to clear the error message and allowed me to select the next cartridge to change, but upon opening the door to change it, was unable to remove the old one as it was positioned a little too high. I eventually cleared the problem by manually rotating the carousel by pressing in and holding the carousel release (see arrow) mmgazette.jpgwhile rotating the carousel downward slightly, to line the cartridge up as it appears in this picture. Then powered it back up and was able to do the normal cartridge replacement procedure for the remaining cartridges without further error messages.

Why does the blue colour turn out red on printing plus the yellow is mainly pink?? I am trying to print out invites for my son's 10th birthday & he is not impressed with the pink!!


See if the ink cartridges are installed correctly. It may be that your Magenta and Yellow ink cartridges need to change places. So, try replacing the cartridges, put the Magenta where the Yellow is, and the Yellow where the Magenta is.
Usually the ink cartridge placement follows this order:
Cyan, Magenta, Yelow, Black, so see if the cartridges on your printer match. Also, check to see if there are color markings on the print-head itself, and make sure the markings match the cartridge inks.
If the ink cartridges are aligned properly and the Black is printing out just fine, you may be looking at a software issue, and you'll need to remove the printer from the Devices list (go to Start -> Control Panel -> System), unplug the printer from the PC and restart. Then, install the drivers first, and after that plug in the printer cable to the PC.

First run the CLEAN HEADS and see if that helps. If you don't use your printer at least once a week the Print Heads get dried out and will not allow the ink to pass through to the paper.
Go to control Panel and click on Printess. Then when the window comes up, CLICK on Properties TAB and then in the next window, CLICK on CLEANING.
You may have to replace your PRINT HEAD if that doesn't work.

Magicolor 5430 dl doesn't print magenta


Please check your magenta cartridge if they are properly installed.

Make sure that your magenta cartridge are not empty.

Make sure that you are using the original konika minolta cartridge and not just a refill one or replacement one.

If you turned the machine off and replaced the cartridge, you can get this error.

Could you try the following procedure below please to clear the error, thanks.
  1. Turn on the unit.
  2. Open the top cover to access the print cartridges.
  3. Remove the new cartridge that is causing the message.
  4. Reinsert the cartridge and close the cover. The following message will appear on the front panel: "Press 1 for new cartridge or press 2 for a used cartridge."
  5. Press the 1 on the numeric keypad of the HP product.
If the message, press 1 for new cartridge or press 2 for a used cartridge, "does not appear after removing and reinstalling the new cartridge, and the low ink warning message still displays,

follow the steps below:
  1. Turn on the unit.
  2. Open the top cover to access the ink cartridges.
  3. After the cartridges stop moving, unplug the power cord.
  4. Remove both cartridges and close the top cover.
  5. Plug the power back in. The unit will reinitialize and a message will appear to insert the cartridges.
  6. Open the top cover and reinsert the ink cartridges. Close the top cover. The message,
  7. Press 1 for new cartridge or press 2 for a used cartridge," should appear.

Printer doesn´t print using the mangenta ink cartridge


try this :

1. Make sure the printer is turned on but not printing.

NOTE: You cannot clean the print head if the any of the cartridges are expended. Replace the appropriate ink cartridge before proceeding.

2. Load letter size paper.

3. Click on START.

For Windows 95/98/ME: Click SETTINGS, PRINTERS, then RIGHT-CLICK on the EPSON STYLUS PRINTER ICON. Select PROPERTIES from the drop-down menu. Proceed to Step 4.

For Windows 2000: Click SETTINGS, PRINTERS, then RIGHT-CLICK on the EPSON STYLUS PRINTER ICON. Select PRINTING PREFERENCES from the drop-down menu. Proceed to Step 4.

For Windows XP: Click CONTROL PANEL, PRINTERS AND FAXES. RIGHT-CLICK your EPSON STYLUS PRINTER ICON. Select PRINTING PREFERENCES from the drop-down menu. If this icon is not showing, select VIEW INSTALLED PRINTERS. Then RIGHT-CLICK the EPSON STYLUS PRINTER ICON. Select PRINTING PREFERENCES from the drop-down menu. Proceed to Step 4.

For Windows Vista: Click CONTROL PANEL,HARDWARE AND SOUND then PRINTERS. Note: these steps may vary depending on how Vista is setup. RIGHT-CLICK on the EPSON STYLUS PRINTER ICON. Select PRINTING PREFERENCES from the drop-down menu. Proceed to Step 4.

4. Click on the UTILITY or MAINTENANCE tab, then click on HEAD CLEANING.

5. Follow the instructions on the screen to clean the printhead. Cleaning takes about 30 seconds, during which time the printer makes some noise and the power light flashes. Never turn off the printer while the power light is flashing, unless the printer has not moved or made noise for more than 5 minutes.

6. When the power light stops flashing click PRINT NOZZLE CHECK PATTERN and then click NEXT.

7. If the nozzle check pattern has no gaps in its lines, click FINISH. If the pattern has any gaps, click CLEAN to clean the printhead again.

8. If the situation continues after three cleaning cycles and nozzle checks, replace one of the affected ink cartridge(s).

9. Once the cartridge(s) has been replaced, please follow steps one through seven up to three times.
