Setup and Menu buttons do nothing on my LG LHT854

Hi, I bought the LG LHT854 a couple of days ago and used the SETUP button to set up the system. I just tried to get into the set-up screen again and both the SETUP & MENU buttons don't do anything. Does anyone know why?
Thanks

You need to press "Input" on the remote and keep pressing it until you get to the connection that you are using (e.g.: HDMI, etc). Once on that, you can use the setup screen. It took me several hours to figure that out.

I have the input set to optical, since there's no HDMI input on the unit, and still get nothing when I press the "setup" button. It continues to show the optical input selection on the unit's screen, no setup menu pops up at all.

How to setup my LHT854 to route my LG 42LN5300 TV through the speakers?

You probably need to be a bit clearer as to what you want. But the f (function) key on the unit allows you to change the input To ARC if you have it set up. If you switch off your TV /stereo using the TV remote only this should shut down both. When you turn it on again both should turn on with the sound routed through your stereo ( when you turn on you need to wait a short while while the stereo starts up)

My LG LBH953 Home Theater rear speakers won't work

You have go to audio setup on the main menu and turn off HDMI. Afterwards, select the sounds button on your remote and select the "games" option. This is because it is probably the best select to listen to movies via surrond sound. I hope this helps

LG LHT854 Speaker issue

Have you tried the VSM (Virtual Sound Matrix) button on the remote? I think you will have to scroll through the various sound processors ie..stage...virtual matrix..etc...to find the one that will have all surround speakers working. Hope this helps

The issue might be that you have to send the LHT854 Back to the manufacturers and have the playback feature replaced. The playback feature is controlled by a device that is internal and very important to the overall function of the unit.
