Cannot install my download due to error message 1607
I use Mozilla Firefox as my browser first off; I wanted to try out a very basic version of a electronic grade book from site ThinkWave.com. Download went fine, however, when I tried installing the download an error message reading ''1607:unable to install InstallShield scripting runtime''-I have tried various things but no luck. What is your suggestion? By the way, I am an electronics and computers ****-just so ya know. I look forward to a reply. Thanks Christina Johnson

here are two ways to remove the Yahoo! Toolbar for Mozilla Firefox.
The easiest way is to use the "Uninstall" menu item:
Click the Pencil menu. Click "Uninstall". Enter any feedback you'd like to send to Yahoo! about why you're uninstalling the toolbar. Click "Uninstall". Restart your browser.
If that doesn't work, you can also use the Extension Manager in Firefox to remove the Yahoo! Toolbar extension:
Click the "Tools" menu in the Firefox browser. Click the "Extensions" menu item. In the Extensions Manager window scroll until you find the Yahoo! Toolbar extension. Click the Yahoo! Toolbar extension. Click "Uninstall". Click "OK" in the "Uninstall Yahoo! Toolbar" window. Exit Extensions Manager and restart your browser.
Either one of these methods will uninstall Yahoo! Toolbar from your
browser. If neither works, your user profile is corrupt. You might need
to create a new user profile for your browser.

First of all, AVG isn't the best anti virus software, it's free but there's even better for free out there. Delete AVG and go download Avast Free Edition, it's better than AVG and is also free. I also bet that AVG isn't what's really causing your problems, try switching whatever browser you are using to Firefox but before you do that try deleting your cookies and clearing your cache.
I always use Firefox as these problem never happen and it is free program and easy to download. but to answer your question, go to IE and in tools select internet options and delete all temp. files and files stored on your computer. You may have some cookie that is causing the problem. Other causes may be a virus. but first do as I suggested and restart your pc. at any rate. here is the link to download firefox

i would uninstall java in a complete fashion.. remove it with revo uninstaller located on majorgeeks.com.. use the advanced mode to remove old registry entries, and also program locations within your system. then go to filehippo.com and download the latest java version..before you install clean your browsers with ccleaner. do as system defrag, and re-check your program files to make sure there is no empty folders of java left.. also type %APPDATA% in your search run bar in the start menu to look for any folders of java located deeper in your system files.. and please try to clear your prefetch folder before you install.. if not, then just follow the instructions i have listed excludeing the prefectch clean.. do your fresh install now, and reboot. try it now..

I would like to help you to quickly solve this problem. Yes, you will need to install an add-on that will allow you to view PDF files in your FireFox browser. Follow these instructions.
1) Go to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/.
2) On the navigation menu at the top, click on "Add-ons".
3) Next, in the text field where it says "search for add-ons", type "Adobe reader".
4) The add-on is named "PDFescape Extension".
5) Then click on the green button "add to firefox" located to the right of the add-on name.
6) A pop-up window will appear with the name of the add-on, in this case "PDFescape Extension".
7) Next you will see the "Install" button located at the bottom of this pop-up window, click it to install the add-on. After this, the pop-up window will close and open a install window.
8) In this download window, you will notice the progress of the download. When it is complete, you will be prompted to restart firefox. To do so, simply close the firefox browser window, and then start firefox up again.
9) To test the add-on, try viewing a pdf file in the firefox browser.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions.
