Cannot install my download due to error message 1607
I use Mozilla Firefox as my browser first off; I wanted to try out a very basic version of a electronic grade book from site ThinkWave.com. Download went fine, however, when I tried installing the download an error message reading ''1607:unable to install InstallShield scripting runtime''-I have tried various things but no luck. What is your suggestion? By the way, I am an electronics and computers ****-just so ya know. I look forward to a reply. Thanks Christina Johnson

try using flock, It is also powered by mozilla but faster than firefox.
you can download it at www.flock.com
there are only few add ons/plug ins but it sure does work faster and less or no crashes at all.
When exactly are you getting this error message? Which website you want to browse to?
Steps to try: 1. Download and install Flash Player ActiveX control for your Internet Browser. 2. Make sure that you have the latest version of Java installed. 3. Restore your Internet Explorer 8 to the default settings. 4. Check for any updates available for your Windows and Internet Explorer. 5. Try using some other browser such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Crome and/or Opera and check if the website loads correctly?
Firefox is up to build 3.0.8, so update it,or blow it away and install the newest version, but before you install it go to internet options and under browser, click delete, then click delete all, then check box and delete. Now install the newest firefox and see if the problem is gone.
