Start the system up in safe mode (F8) on boot up, perform a system restore and restore the machine back to a date before the problem occured

thats not the errors, its the boot loader, you have to wait a few minutes for windows safe mode to boot and a window will appear asking if you would like to perform a system restore, read the on screen instutions and select "restore to an earlier time" and click next a window with a calender in it will appear, choose a time before the problems occoured and follow the on-screen instructions

let me know how you get on

when you first turn the laptop on, and it boots up, is the screen normal until it boots the OS?

  • Lee Hodgson
    Lee Hodgson Nov 22, 2008

you misunderstood, when you first turn the laptop on can you see the "Acer" logo clearly?

  • Lee Hodgson
    Lee Hodgson Nov 22, 2008

ok then, we have established that there is no hardware failure because you can see the "Acer" logo clearly. Now you must recover the system! have you a recovery disk? you will have got this disk with the pc. If not, the system cannot be restored and you will have to buy one.

I am getting error message for win32 generic host data executor prevention

Here is my resolution to the error
SVCHOST.EXE GENERIC HOST PROCESS OR
DEP ERROR

IT DOES NOT INCLUDE
DISABLING WIA
OR
DISABLING DEP (which is a good security feature)

I have tried it on upto 3-4 computers with success and complete software functionality
*******************************************
Turn the All in One Off
Uninstall the whole of the HP software on the computer
Run a level 4 uninstall
Start --> Run -->X:\Util\CCC\Uninstall L1.bat
Start --> Run -->X:\Util\CCC\Uninstall L2.bat
Start --> Run -->X:\Util\CCC\Uninstall L3.bat
Start --> Run -->X:\Util\CCC\Uninstall L4.bat

Restart the computer
*******************************************
Check the computer on the restart
Check if you still get an SVCHOST.EXE GENERIC HOST PROCESS OR
DEP ERROR on restart

Start --> Run
Type in Msconfig
Click OK
Click Launch System Restore
Run System Restore
Create a Restore Point named Hp

Click Start --> Run
Type in Regedit
Click OK
Open Registry Editor
Scroll to the following Registry Key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentV
ersion\Explorer\
RemoteComputer\NameSpace\2227A280-3AEA-1069-A2DE-08002B30309D

Right click on this Key Click Export
On the Export Registry Window which comes up
Type Hpprinter as the filename and save it on the desktop

Get back to the same Registry Key
Right Click the Key and Click Delete to remove the key

Restart the computer
THERE SHOULD BE NO DEP ERRORS THIS TIME

(IF you have any issues after deleting the above key <possibility is remote> restore the computer back to the Hp restore point)

*******************************************

Reinstall the Hp printer Wirelessly or on a wired network now the usual way

Once the software installation finishes
Verify functionality

*******************************************
NOW
Right-Click My Computer, then click Properties.

On the Advanced tab, under Performance, click Settings.

On the Data Execution Prevention tab

Click Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select to select the OptOut policy, and then click Add to add the following programs

Create an exception in the DEP for the following programs by browsing to the correct location. The following list outlines the locations:

Hpcmpmgr.exe (x:\Program Files\HP\Hpcoretech\hpcmpmgr.exe)

HPwuSchd2.exe (x:\Program Files\HP\HP Software Update\hpwuSchd2.exe)

HP Digital Imaging Monitor (hpqtra08.exe) (x:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\hpqtra08.exe)

HP Image Zone Fast Start (hpqthb08.exe) (x:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\hpqthb08.exe)

Generic Host Process for Win32(svchost.exe)
(c:\windows\system32\svchost.exe)

Add all these files one by one by browsing to the locations

Click Apply and OK
Let the computer restart if prompted
******************************************

Its also at times needed to disable
from the Startup of the computer in Msconfig

Hpcmpmgr.exe
HPwuSchd2.exe
HP Digital Imaging Monitor (hpqtra08.exe)
HP Image Zone Fast Start (hpqthb08.exe)

The reason is the above mentioned exceptions to the Data Execution Prevention are loaded after the Startup loads and the DEP may try to shut them down at the startup itself and generate the errors
Unchecking the above files does not mean losing any functionality on the All in One all the features should work properly

BSNL net connects but after some time svchost.exe error occurs

Hi,

The problem is with the Windows operating system. Either the OS is infected by a virus or it is corrupt.

The best and effective thing I can suggest you is to reinstall the Operating system on the computer. Please scan your computer once you have reinstalled the OS using a good antivirus.

Hope this helps.

What is an ArcCon ac application error0xc00000006?

What you describe falls under the general category of svchost.exe issues. Svchost.exe is used by your computer to access the registry and check the services to load during system startup.

arccon.ac is an ArcSoft Connect Notifier. There are two possibilities why its happening:
  1. Microsoft releases regular security updates that are installed automatically on your computer by the Automatic Updates feature, which is enabled by default on your computer. The Svchost.exe Application error usually appears due to a problem with a recent update.
Closing the error message might freeze your computer. To fix this error, perform the following tasks.
  1. Open Control Panel, select Performance and Maintenance, and then select Services.
  2. In the System Properties dialog box, open the Automatic Updates tab.
  3. Next, select the Turn Off Automatic Updates option.
  4. Select Apply and then OK to accept your changes and exit the System Properties dialog box.
  5. Restart your PC.
  6. Ensure that you are connected to the Internet and then select the Windows Update command from Start > All Programs to manually update Windows.
  7. After the update is complete, enable the automatic updates again from System Properties > Automatic Updates.
This should rectify your application error. However, if the error keeps reappearing, then you might turn off automatic updates permanently and manually perform Windows updates at regular intervals.

Errors Caused By Virus Infection
Let's hope that this isn't the case. Lengthy procedure but if you are still having trouble, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

Svchost.exe applicationerror The instruction at "0x012cf496" referenced memory "0x0123f496". The memory could not ne "written".

This is the most common question when computer users start to experience this error messages pop up on their screens. Many people immediately call in their computer-technicians to fix this problem and end up paying huge amount of money on professional fees.

Unknowingly, this problem could be easily fixed on your own, even if you know little about computers; and further prevents this problem to occur in the future. There are many ways to solve this and I shall discuss further on these methods; as well as the ones easier for you to do.

One of the best methods in dealing with this kind of situation is to verify the settings of windows update. If you keep on updating your system, some of the applications may not be compatible with your OS; hence, this error message shows up. In some cases, you may need to register again your update DLL file in order to fix this issues.

Another method is to reboot your computer in order to reload your operating system. There are times when your computer encounters problem during startup and rebooting your system can resolve the issue. Still another technique is to remove update files which are already corrupted; these files are usually found on your registry. In using these methods, you may need some expertise in order to make precise identification of corrupted files.

The best way to solve your problem is to use registry cleaners. This software can fix this trouble because this problem may be related to registry issues caused by the build-up of unwanted trash files. These junk files can cause various types of problems in your computer including svchost.exe application errors; it can further cause your system to run slow, takes longer time to start up, and eventually crash if not resolved immediately.

Therefore, the next time you encounter this message, you don't have to call in your technician to fix the problem for you; because you already know how to fix svchost.exe application error yourself using registry cleaner software.

Svchost error memmory

Svchost.exe acts as a host for a group of services on your computer. As you are aware there a many services and programs the run silently in the back ground. Svchost.exe pools many of these services in one group and runs all at the same time. This is a great for efficiency. However, it can cause your CPU to spike to 100%.

As mentioned before svchost.exe is essential. So the trick is not to block svchost.exe, its to limit your computers need to use it. You can limit your computer need for svchost.exe. By cutting down on the services that are loaded when you PC starts. This can be done quite easily.

1. Open your Start menu.
2. Click Run
3. In the command screen type: msconfig
4. In the "system configuration utility", Click "services" tab
5. Uncheck all services that are unnecessary.
6. Click "OK"
Uncheck the suspecious services but make sure you do not stop necessary services. Restart the PC to take them affect

svchost.exe is a generic host process name for services that run from dynamic-link libraries.

Sounds like a driver or application problem you have. As you get this when you connect to the internet, sounds like your web browser. Try reinstalling it
