Question about Apple MacBook Pro Laptop Computer with Intel Duo Core 15.4 Inch PC Notebook

Macintosh error code -10810

I can't get my new MacBookPro running OS 10.5.5 to load the software for my Novatel wireless card, so I went to the Sprint site and downloaded the driver again. It downloaded as a zipped file. I tried to open the zip file with StuffIt Expander and got an error code -10810. What's that, and why can't I open the driver or run the ''old'' driver, which works just fine on my MacBookAir?

I'm getting the -10810 error code a LOT on my new MacBookPro. What does it mean? I get it when trying to open apps, mostly when trying to open Apple apps like Mail or Safari. My software is current, licensed, updated, all that good stuff. I have plenty of ram. Can't figure out why at times I can't open my stickies or address book
and get the -10810 error. Is there a list available explaining error codes?

Cause it has compatibility issue. But by this time its your hardware. Try downloading other version which is nearer to your older version. Be sure to complete the zip file before you expand it or else it prompts you again the same error code.

It has a list of error code at just be patient searching it.
Theirs no other way but you have to take these process. All you have to do is to reinstall the system, your OS X 10.5.5, but I would say better to downgrade it to OS X 10.4 and upgrade it later on to OS X 10.4.11. The tiger version is stable at Mac Book Pro. Applications and other drivers, as long as it is compatible with the tiger version, things work smoothly. I'd tried it many times. The Leopard Version which 10.5.5 has many difficulties loading some applications, and sometimes driver as well. So its up to you. if only I could setup it for you I would love to do it.

Cleaning up

Sounds like a major problem with the operating system. I suggest you reinstall the operating system. Parts of it are probably missing causing the error. Run Disk Utility Repair before you do, just in case that will fix it.

Hey..i forgot my macbook's password. Is there any ways that i can access my computer & change it?

Here’s how to create an MAC admin account without knowing the current administrator password. This process will take about 5-10 minutes. If you have a password, or WEP code for your network or internet, be sure to have that at hand.

Internet crashing- what's the problem/ solution?

Sometimes for what seems to be a very difficult issue, can in fact have a simple solution.

These browsers have preferences lists in their directories which if corrupted adversely impact the functionality of these web browser applications, so try these steps:

font.f1 {font: 12.0px Helvetica} • From your desktop, click anywhere on a blank space on your desktop. Now you should see Finder listed near the Apple menu icon.

• From the Finder menu, click on Go, then Home from the
drop-down menu. This will take you to your Home folder.

• Locate and open the Library folder

• Within Library folder look for the Preferences folder and open it.

• Locate and remove to the Trash, these files:

Once you have removed these files to the Trash, click the back button on the open Finder window.
• This will return you back to the Library view where you now will need to locate and remove to the Trash, the folder entitled "Caches".

*Once that folder is removed to the Trash, close all applications and open windows.

* Next, click on the Apple menu icon (upper left corner of your screen) and select from the drop down window, Logout<username>. This will take you the main login window. Simply log back in to your current user account.

* Before testing your Safari and Firefox browsers, perform one more procedure in order to repair folder/file permissions.
font.f1 {font: 13.0px Myriad Pro} -RUN DISK UTILITY FIRST-

Go to Finder Menu bar
• Click Go > Utilities > Disk Utility and open up Disk Utility app.
• Click on Macintosh HD volume (or on the name you have changed
this volume to.)
• Select "Repair Disk Permissions"
**Let Disk Utility run this repair permissions process, until completion.

Once Disk Utility is complete and there are no errors in red in the completion summary (if there are errors listed in red, re-run DU to see if those error will clear- if they don't reply back to this post right away and let me know what the exact error message is), quit Disk Utility.

• Once this is completed, now you should relaunch
both Safari and Firefox to see if they will now launch.
Update me if these processes did not help.

After my MBP has been running for an indeterminate period of time, every 10 seconds or so, I hear a single beep from my speakers...whatever sound I've chosen for my alert. When I try to open new apps, I...

Here are a couple suggestions:

1. If you're using 10.3, you need to get rid of the following:
(where '~' means your Home directory, i.e. '/Users/yourname')

2. If you have Virex or other virus software installed, try uninstalling it. Be sure to use uninstallers that come with the software because simply deleting the application does not fully uninstall most virus software.

Be sure to shut down for a couple of minutes, then do a restart after the above.

I have read that the 10.4.7 update will require a patch that includes missing pieces for intels. If you cannot load terminal to check processes, rebooting is the only cure so far. If you can load terminal then try this:

Check to see how many processes you have running, some people have reported over 500!! Thats crazy! if yours is hi try running this as a test "sudo killall -9 smbd" That should clear your processes up quite a bit. I also read that printer sharing can do this sometimes. This is a problem with the Intel chips and MacOSx from what I have read. The system for some reason doesn't release the processes once it is completed with them. I hear that they are working for an update to rectify this problem.

Hope this helps
