If you don't know the wireless code, you can simply reset the router. There's a reset button at the back of the router. Press and hold it down for about 15 seconds, then unplug the power for 10 seconds and plug it back in. That will clear the wireless code.

What do i need to hook up wireless -g 2.4 ghz

I believe the laptop is wireless.
You will need to check the wireless settings of the router.
If your router is already set up and other computers are able to go online using the router then you don't need to change anything on router, you will need to connect to the network only.

Linksys Wireless-G2.4 GHz Broadband that my laptop doesnn't recog

You will need to check the wireless settings of the router
is there any computer connected to the router ?
If yes then you can open the router set up page on that computer.
Router set up page is the page where you can check all the wireless settings of the router.

If that doesn't work then upgrade the firmware of the router.
Firmware is the software of the router. After upgrading the firmware, it is recommended that you should reset the router and reconfigure the router.

WIFI not working with Linksys wireless-g broadband router/Comcast

Unplugging the wireless router and connecting it again should not have altered the wireless connection/configuration. You have connected the cables correctly because the Internet works when you connect a LAN cable to the router.
The Linksys wireless configuration or the wireless card configuration in the computer was changed it to lose the wireless connection. The wireless card configuration needs to be changed to match the wireless router's settings or change the Linksys with new configuration settings and configure the wireless card accordingly.
To secure your router with a login password and wireless security, please follow my instructions - click on this link :-

I want to add a laptop - wireless to my current system. I have a linksys G 3.4 GHz. I need help.

Do you know the current wireless card settings that are working on your current system.
All you need to do is to configure these SSID and encryption settings etc on the wireless card on this laptop so it will communicate with the router.
If you have enabled MAC address filtering on the Linksys then you need to add the MAC address of this laptop to the MAC address Filter table in the Linksys wireless settings.
Let me know if you need further help.

Connection

Hi Susie
With related to your particular issue it seems like that your broadband modem is not configured for the router. There are basically 2 types of connection. DSL and Cable modem. Verizon, ATT are DSL and comcast other providers give you a normal cable broadband connection. If its comcast make sure the cable from the comcast modem is going to the internet port in the linksys router and also make sure that there is a system connection the linksys router and the cable from the system goes to any of LAN 1, 2, 3 and 4 ports. Then reset your cable modem by using a pin and inserting to the reset hole in the modem. You could use the same step to reset your linksys router as well .If its a verizon or dsl connection you need to put normally your username and password in the router page. here is the link to how to configure linksys for your internet modem.
Here is a video as well on it?
