Question about SanDisk ImageMate 12-in-1 USB 2.0 Card Reader

1 Answer

Computer won't open program to import

When I insert my CompactFlash, my computer seems not to recognize the SanDisk and won't open the program to import my pictures to Picasa 3. When it works, it brings up a selection of programs to choose from as far as which program I want to open. That's always Picasa and when it works, it works beautifully.....when it doesn't, I have no idea why. The last time, it seemed to be related to the pressure applied when I inserted the flash card but nothing works this time. Whatever you suggest will be appreciated.

#1. Reboot the computer.
#2. is the light coming on the card reader when you insert the card? If not, the computer is not recognizing the card. Make sure the card reader is plugged into a working USB port and the card is inserted in the correct orientation. If the light is coming on, simply go to "My Computer" and select the drive letter associated with the card.

SOURCE: camera not reading SD card after being removed from my reader

Put the SD card back into the card reader. Are you files still there when the computer tries to read them?
If they are not, then it is very likely the card is corrupt. This happens when the card is removed before the computer is done reading/writing to the card.

There is also a SLIM chance the card is just bad.

Pictures show up on memory card in camera, but computer won't recognize the card - either inserted directly or by USB

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

The USB drive is recognized as an ordinary hard drive with a letter, easily seen in Windows Explorer. Use drag and drop to copy and paste what ever you want including photos or music, any type of file, no software, program od driver is necessary.

Cant download from camara to pc need to dpwnload program dont have disc

If your computer does not recognize the camera when you plug it in to the computer and you do not have access to the software needed, you will need to find another way to get the pictures onto the computer straight from the memory card. If your computer has a memory card reader, use that because that's the easiest way to access pictures on a memory card. If your computer does not have a memory card reader, you can buy a USB adapter that your memory card can fit into and your computer can read through USB. They are cheap and useful. Here's a good one for 12.99 from amazon.com that reads many types of memory cards including:
  • CompactFlash Type
  • CompactFlash Type II
  • Memory Stick
  • Memory Stick PRO
  • SmartMedia
  • xD Picture Card
  • SD
  • MultiMediaCard

I cant transfer my ringtones from my san disk to my phone

Hi chad0872,

First and foremost, you can't do anything if you don't have all of the components needed to do the job. You will definitely need a computer. More importantly, you will also need a Micro SanDisk and TransFlash to SanDisk adapter. The Micro SanDisk is a very small device, approximately the size of a chip. The disk is placed in your phone to store your phone's items for transfer. The TransFlash to SanDisk adapter is used to access the SanDisk files on your computer. Your SanDisk should be at least 256MB for sufficient storage space.
Once you've established and obtained everything you need, you can now begin the initial transfer process. Insert your Micro SanDisk into the phone where your ringtones are stored. Access the Media Folder or Content Management folder in the phone. Highlight each ringtone file you want to transfer. Open the Options' section available for the ringtones and opt to move your ringtones from the phone's storage to the memory card. Once the transfer process is complete, remove the memory card from the phone
Now that you have moved your ringtones to the Micro SanDisk, place the Micro SanDisk into the TransFlash SanDisk. Insert the TransFlash SanDisk into your computer. This expandable memory slot can usually be found in the from of most laptops and next to the USB slots on the front panel of desktop model computers. Once the insertion is detected, your computer's AutoPlay dialog window will appear or an import options will be given. When the ringtones' window opens, drag and drop the ringtone files from your Micro SanDisk to your computer's desktop screen. Then transfer it to your phone,,,,

good luck with your fix,,,
have a nice day,,

Regards
Arul

My computer won't read my Sandisk memory card adapter thing.

Did you try to insert it and restart your computer while it's still in?

If not you can even try shutting it down and inserting it. Then start it up and see if it recognizes a new device.

I opened the reader mechanically by unscrewing the two screws beneath the rubber pad in the bottom. I saw that two pins were pushed out of the connector. By carefully pressing them back in again I found that after closing the unit and carefully inserting a CF card it was working again Yipee!!

My cruzer micro flash drive will not open

Have you tried opening up your files on another PC? Have you tried inserting it into a different USB drive in your PC? If so, and neither is fixing the problem, there is software you can get (I think about $20) that will help you retreive your files if they are crucial.
