Canon ImageRunner 3200 Problem

Hey my copier just keep saying "Printer is warming up..." and continues to say the same thing. I changed the Fuser, Toners and Drums... Still the problem continues. Any ideas?

I checked that... Actually had it on an industry size UPS and took it off, plugged straight into the wall and still nothing.

  • omansur Nov 24, 2008

I tried exactly what you recommended. Tried a completely different outlet circuit and tried the reset button. Still not working. "Printer is warming up..." and I even left it on over night and still the same message in the morning so it doesn't time out.

  • omansur Nov 24, 2008

Yes I changed the Fuser because that's what I was told was the problem. Then I was told the drums and toners. So I changed everything. Still nothing. I've been the in service mode and really am not sure what I'm looking at in there. All the parts I put in were Canon OEM.

  • omansur Nov 25, 2008

Totallyall, I removed the back panel and and side panel covering the power supply. Looks pretty clean. Cleaned it out with some air and checked all the connections. Now remember I said I changed all the drums? One drum I didn't change was the Magenta because I changed it only a two weeks before the error. So basically we have new drums, toners and fuser. Do I have to resent something when changing the fuser or drums like a reset in the service mode? Now I'm completely stuck.

Never had electrical problems with that machine or any others. Bought the machine on Ebay used for about 2k. It has about 700k prints on it. We've had it for about 8 months. About a month ago we had an error (Magenta Drum). Changed it and worked great until now.

The problem all along was a bad NEW oem drum.

Sorry I dont work on Canon's... I hate those things..

but if it says Warming up.. never gets past that?

leave it on for a long time, see what happens? If you changed the Fuser Unit, it might not be connected properly, when a Laser Machine says it is warmng up. That is what is warming up in the Machine. I dont know if there is a service code to reset when you replace the fuser?

In my experience if a machine does not warm up, it will throw an Error code. if it freezes up, something in the system is corrupt. some ESD might havve damaged a borad..

But agian I dont do these machines. sorry...

Was this happening before you changed the Fuser, Toners and Drum, is this the reason you changed these parts?
Your fusing unit could be bad, not connected correctly, lamps or sensors, thermostats, thermsistors could also be bad.

Most machines will give a code when there is a problem, if your machine is stuck at Warming up, it sounds as if there is a problem with the system. Either a bad board, or corrupted sys info (ROMs, sys board etc). I am sure there is a code to clear trouble, reset the machine.

On most modern machines, you can test each section through service. I would start with that. I do not have any manual related to your machine... There are places around the internet where you can purchase a service manual. And you will want a service manual not operator.

This site has many different manuals available

first---drums gives copy quality and e020 when they are bad second fuser gives error codes , copy quality , jamming and noise . now we look at your power supply , but before tell me how old is the machine in terms of meter readings did you buy it refurbished or second hand how long did it work for you . did you ever have any electrical problems with other machine or copier .

When machine is cold and run first copies of anything the black and red ink looks to be running. What is the problem? It does not do it when the machine is warmed up.

Printers that use "toner" (dry ink) rely on heat from the "fuser" unit to melt the ink into the paper. If the "fuser" is becoming slow to "warm-up", then the toner is not getting properly melted into the paper.

Kode erorr e0000-000

This error code deals with the fuser unit. It is saying that the fuser is not warming up. It needs to be reset in service mode.

It is a fuser heat error. Try to reset the machine from the error code. If problem persists you have the check the fuser for damage. Could be a thermister, thermoswitch, or faulty heaters. To clear error, service more function/clear/error/ok/ exit service mode and cycle power.
