My sebo x5 power head goes up and down without stopping

Turn it over and undo the screws in the power head and remove the base plate.

Make sure the hose is pushed all the way in or the safety switch wont allow power to the base.

It will take far longer for me on how to do this, but I did it myself using this fantastic espares video on You Tube. Carbon brushes are really easy to remove as are other areas. X1A, X1.1, X4 and X5 Extra are all the same model, save from cosmetic differences, different motor outputs and bigger floor head and brush roller on the X5.

Take it to your dealer. Sebo has a 7 year warranty, your dealer can repair it.

Sounds like the controller microchip has become disconnected. You'll need to flip the SEBO over on its side and remove the floor head - to do this, kneel on the floor and press the release button below the main front bin to unlock the floor head from the main bin area. Putting one knee on the floor head might help as the lock might be still. This pulls the floor head apart from the main bin and user handle. Once unlocked, flip the head over and undo the 4 large screws (2 at the back and 2 near the front on either side) Once the floor head has become loose, ease it off slowly and you should see the microchip board. With the bumper in front of you look to your right hand side to check that the microchip thread has not been pulled out. Check that all points are pushed in correctly 0- you should download a parts and manual diagram from SEBO UK or SEBO Germany (Sebo.de) in English. This will show you the microchip board and the microchip connectors. Once checked, reverse process, fit screws back on with the floor head cover underneath and re assemble before switching back on. Hope it helps!

If the wheel isn't moving when the upright handle is swung down normally then the hydrallic action will be broken. The wheel only adjusts to the carpet when the handle is swung down and the wheel goes to the highest position. HOWEVER if you have large pile / thick carpeting then the X1 will struggle to pick this up as it doesn't cope well with thick carpeting. Sebo's G1 series with a manual adjuster dial is better in that respect. Put back the wheel as normal and check that it is lowering once the handle is unlocked. If it doesn't show up with the lights on the front of the hood showing that the wheel is going down, then its either the carpet thickness or the hydrallic wheel mechanism is broken. Contact Sebo in your country and they can usually send out a line diagram or suggest a repair.

The full bag light comes on when it is getting full or a blockage in the hose or the dirt inlet by the brush roll. Other then that, there is a circuit board called the computer controller, part #5740ER and is giving you a false reading and causing a shut down.

Hold A straight edge over brush head EG ruler.
Now rotate brushes slowly by hant they should just touch the ruler, If there is a gap then brushes need replacing.
