Question about Zebra Stripe S600 Thermal Label Printer
We are trying to print a label where the data being sent to it, maybe have to print on to a 2nd label. Any time the data has to cross over to a 2nd or 3rd label, we can't get the label to print out at all. We are using Crystal to format the label.
Is there something with the printer itself where we need to ensure it's setup to Auto Feed so that it knows to continue on to a 2nd or 3rd label? Printing a label where the data fits on a single label, works fine. We are using Zebra S600 printer. Any ideas?

if the red light is coming on and staying on, it might be a sensor problem. Try pushing on the lid and see if the light goes to green. If it does, it' s the gap sensor. This is how the printer "reads" the labels gaps-the little spaces between the labels. We've solve this in the short term by covering the sensor and manually setting the gap through the programming command prompt,

Go into the printer driver and select print a test page, does it print out?
If so then try printing from your label software, it should work, if not then it is your software that is at fault.
If the test page does not print out then check all the settings in the print driver, so they are the same as the physical label.

Check media settings in the printer driver. Check version of printer driver. Zebra printersuse an internal printer driver with their Zebra Designer software (Zdesigner driver) or a ZUD (Zebra Universal Driver) for other windows applications. These drivers can be downloaded directly from the zebra website.
Alternatively you can download the seagull scientific driver and use that instead. (used with bartender program)
Label skipping occurs if the media dimensions are not specified correctly. The important ones are label height, and media setting for type of media.
Perform a media calibration before you go changing settings. Power on printer, Hold top and bottom buttons in on control panel for 5 seconds, release bottom button only then when printer starts feeding labels release top button. When printer finishes press feed button.

When the last label printed is still under the printhead, that means the printer is in "rewind mode". There should be an option for "tear off" mode in the printer driver. This is the mode that pushes the last label printed out to the tear bar. The printer will then "backfeed" when printing the next label. Peel off mode is used if you want to print a label and have it "peeled" off the liner so that you can just pick up the label off the liner and apply it. That takes the rewind option to be installed.
Watch out though, if you are using a label software package, there might be a setting in the label format setup for "tear off" which usually overrides the settings in the printer.
Hope that helps !
