The lines in my tv look like someone was using a etcha sketch on it. The lines appear on the top left hand corner of my screen. The lines are purple in color and are consistent from day to day. I have already changed the project lamp bulb and the problem still exit. I believe the problem is with the part that the project lamp is directed to. This part is square in size and made up of many rectangles, I believe this is the actual lcd itself being projected. Do you believe this could be my problem? If so, is there a repair manual? and what is the part number? Sony kf-50we610 lcd project TV, grand wega. Thanks
Check the following link: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/news-item.pl?mdl=KF60WE610&news_id=127 Sony will pay to repair it for you. But hurry. CC
I don't think it's your bulb - sounds/looks like the known "roadmap" problem, they say they will cover it. Check this out: http://esupport.sony.com/perl/news-item.pl?news_id=127&mdl=KF50WE610 Now if they'd just cover the known "blue blob" problem I'm having...
If the lines on your screen looks anything like the image below, you do have a problem with the lcd, problem is you need to replace what is called the light engin. unfortunatly the price of this part is just about as much as a new replacement tv. Get a sceond opinion fron a sony service center near you, as i cannot see your picute. good luck

My tv had identical problem, road map/squiggly, as well as a red/tint that went to a blue squiggley with blue tint. The Sony dealer repair guy said it is the optical block and that Sony covers the part,(about $800.00), but the customer pays for the service call/labor,($227.00). Check with the dealer where purchased. The repair guy came today and replaced the optical block, and the picture is perfect.
