My tv was fine Samsung 1080i model now it's all out of focus and looks like inverted horse shoe big on edges and narrows to the middle? have no idea what happened it was working fine. perfect focus says No Sensor data?
There will be two big Audio Amplifiers on the convergence board, they will say STK382 or some such STK number on them. Look for burned connections on the bottom of them and resolder any suspect connections before anything else. If that doesn't work, get an ohm meter across the various outputs and look for one of them with vastly different readings than the others and change the chip with the funky readings. Lastly look for the connection to the edge sensors on the sides of the screen about half way up. If that wire is disconnected it will give a very bad picture that is very similar to what you are describing.

either your TV or your cable/sat box(if any) is on zoom(enlarging pix). Look for buttons on both remotes that might say picture size or aspect something like that...Pressing these buttons usually cycle thru 3 or 4 size options. When in zoom center of screen is the focus and outer edges of pic are cut off.
Remove front bottom panel behind it is a small black control box top controls are focus controls for R/G/B and Bottom 3 controls are your screen drives adjust one at a time turn off G/B adjust red first, then Do Green and Blue fter adjusting focu to each tube leave them set then adjust screen drive turn color off adjust RGB for a Black and white picture get as close as you can then turn color back If after doing this you still have blurry looking picture look down into Tubes you should be able to see picture clearly in each one if you cannot see picture then projection Fluid need to be changed out. The convergence is dead.U know how to solder?Buy the kit with ur tv name and model.
Replace the parts in that kit.Should be back to normal itself.Or have to go to the menu see the convergence make miner adjustment.
Tries this website.TV Repair World.com have kits and instructions for many DLP tv's with this prob.
This is a convergence problem and can easily be fixed either by resoldering the pins on the convergence ICs or by replaceing them if they prove to be defective. Can you solder? Do you feel confident in replacing these parts?
Keep us posted.
If the convergence is very far off the convergence ICs are bad and need to be replaced first. If the convergence is close and it wont correct it might just be an insect or some dust on the sensors at the 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock posistions behind the screen.
HD projection televisions have seperate convergence alignment for 480i-1080i thus your problem when you use your XBOX360. The "No sensor data" that shows up is due to the fact that the sensors need to be initilized after doing the convergence in 1080i mode. You will probably need a technician to do the alignment because if it is out that much then a template needs to be used to get it corrected. For now you can put your XBOX in a lower display mode until repairs are done.
