Your lower door switch is bad or its mount is broken.

Door switch or mount trouble can be caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.

We have a similar service manual that works for this model and have uploaded it to our site here to help you.

You will need the free Acrobat Reader to view or print it in case you don't have it already.

If you only need a switch, you can order a universal type from us for $5 postpaid.

The best place to order other Sharp parts is Tritronics. You can also call them at 866-779-5835.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

I have a sharp microwave/convection oven model# R-9H84B. I bent/broke the left door latch after hitting it with my elbow when the door was open. I could bend the broken piece back in place enough to shut...

Sharp calls the hooklike parts protruding from the door "latch heads", and curiously they call the switch holders they plug into "door hooks".

Makes no sense to me, but that's what they do. :)

I would say the bent latch head needs to be replaced.

The part numbers for the latch heads are LSTPPA134WRF0 and LSTPPA135WRF0 but the part list on Encompass' Web site does not say which is which, and I do not have the service manual.

So it's probably best to call and ask them when you order. Or just order them both.

You can order parts from Encompass here or you can call them toll-free at 866-779-5835.

Microwave lights up doesn't turn on

The part of the oven called the "magnetron" (this part is what creates/generates the microwave energy that heats the food or liquid) is burned out, the cost to repair is more this part is more than the cost to replace with the cost of Microwaves so depressed by the stagnant economy.

Microwave seems to work but doesn't heat up

HI, when the Magnetron becomes unstable, the microwave will not heat anything. simply replace the Magnetron. This device creates the heating action and it is damaged and not functional at this time.

Sharp R-1510 Start Button Not Working

This may not solve your problem, but on my Sharp R315J microwave, the little plastic pin that pushes forward on the inside of the start button, had broken off and it wouldn't start. The Minute Plus button would start the microwave, so I knew the microwave worked, so I tried to find a piece of plastic that I could glue into the start button hole, because the part doesn't exist and you have to buy the whole door for $100 plus shipping. Nothing I could find was small enough, so I started looking for a new microwave.
While ouside doing lawn work I noticed a small bird tail feather and the end looked to be the perfect size. I snipped off the pointed end and then up about 3/8" to make a little rod to replace the plastic one that broke. It fit perfectly!!! I didn't even have to glue the inside end, it stays put even after repeated door opens. This is sturdy material and looks to last a long time. When it wears out, I have a cat, there's always a few feathers around. I hope this saves someone else a hundred bucks, like it did me.

Dacor dcm24s.light, fan, and control panel work but turntable and heat do not

Most likely the bottom door switch. Dacor units are built by Sharp and that switch is a very common problem. You'd either need to check the switch with an ohm meter or remove the cover of the switch to see if it's burned inside.
