Question about Promise Ultra133 TX2 ATA Controller

Promise Ultra133TX2 runs at 66MB cannot see beyone 32GB

Changed from Ultra66 to Ultra133TX2 installed 2.0.0.42 now Ultra133TX2 can boot but speed is slow and 120GB Seagate ST3120026A only has 32GB visible. The 2.0.0.42 fixed the XP bootup problem. What else do I need to do?? Mobo is Intel EA81510A in a Gateway with Bios 9. Thanks

1) Flash the BIOS to the latest one. It's here.

2) Use this driver which is the newest one. Here.

This should fix your issue.

64 bit driver promise ultra

There is no official Window 7 driver for the Promise Technology Ultra 133 TX2, but you can use the Vista driver. It should also work for both the Ultra 66 and the Ultra 100 cards.
I found the Vista driver at:
http://www.promise.com/single_page_session/page.aspx?region=en-US&m=722&sub_m=sub_m_9&rsn=144
The file name is: Ultra133 TX2 windows 2.1.0.3 logo driver.rar
This file is compressed in the rar format. I decompressed it using 7-Zip. Folder amd64 contains the 64 bit driver. The amd64 driver worked even though my mother board has an Intel CPU and chip set.

I need drivers for fastrak sx4100 for windows seven

There only seems to be one set of drivers available from Promise
http://www.promise.com/single_page_session/page.aspx?region=en-global&m=719&sub_m=sub_m_8&rsn=144
If this doesn't work in Win 7 try installing it in XP mode and see if that does the trick

It seems that the card might be faulty. If there were incompatibility problems, they would normally show up under the operating system (Windows, Linux, etc), not during the booting process.
From your description, I suspect that the card's BIOS is corrupt. Try getting a replacement under warranty and see if the new card works normally (it should).

Promise FastTrak TX2300

You will need to download the drivers on to a floppy disk. When loading setup press F6 when it asks if you want to use third-party RAID controller.

You can get the drivers from the below link

Conflict between Promise Ultra133 and SATA RAID controller

Check that your RAID controller and onboard SATA controller aren't in a compatibility mode. You can put them in this mode while you have no SATA driver installed in Windows.

This tricks Windows into seeing the SATA drives as regular IDE drives. Your BIOS then has a spasm when it see's another IDE controller there, and just uses the card instead.

Make sure the SATA drivers are installed first, otherwise anything SATA will stop showing up. (and your Windows just won't boot if it's on a SATA disk and you take compatibility mode off) =-]

Installing a 2 port ATA-133 IDE adapter card to a desktop w/a hard drive & DVD

I don't think you can boot off of the ATA-133 so you will have to boot off of the IDE on the mobo and have the DVD drive jumpered cable select on the 2nd IDE. Boot that way to make sure the system boots. Shut down. Then instll the ATA-133 adapter with NO DRIVES on it and boot. The system should ask you for drivers for the new hardware. Intall the drivers. Shut down. Attach the new drives to the ATA-133. Reboot. You still might have to go into admin in windows and assign drive letters to the new drives. Anyway, if you are trying to boot off of a drive on the ATA-133 adapter, I don't think you can do it. I have mostly used Asus boards with Award Bios and there was no way to point the boot process to an add-on ATA Controller.
