Re: Unable to create an email address on a Imagerunner...
Fist you will need a send kit only supplied by your dealer.
If this funcktion is inable follow these steps.
Press the user button(it is the button with the star)
Select system settings, network settings-in network settings go down wit the arrow until you get e-mail/i-fax settings.(If it is not showing here or in tcp/ip settings the send kit might not be enabled)
In e-mail settings enter the smtp server name or ip address(you will find it on your computer in outlook under tools and acounts)
In the email you can enter a email address supplied by your network adminitrator.
If you have a DNS server insert the ip adress of the DNS in TCP/IP settings.
Make sure you IP addres is also correct.

It took me a while to figure this out. Your 3220 must be connected to ethernet (I havent tried it with the 3220 connected directly to the computer). Also, this works with a free email with domain Godaddy account, so YMMV.
1. Open your web browser and navigate to the 3220's CentreWare IS.
2. Click on "Protocol/SMTP Server"
3. Check "Host Name"
4. Type smtpout.secureserver.net/80 for server/port
5. Check "SMTP requires authentication"
6. Enter your username/pw
7. Click "Save Changes"
If you are asked for a username/pw to save the settings, the 3220's default are admin/1111.
Now click on "E-mail/E-mail Setup" on the navigation. Make sure your default [From:] address is your sender email address (they must match). Click "Save Changes"
As a final recommendation, I strongly suggest that you create your address book (E-mal/Local Address Book on the navigation) to make it easier to send by email, otherwise you will have to manually enter email addresses using the 3220's keypad (very slow!). Create groups for sending scans to several emails without having to select each individual email from the 3220's panel (also slow!).
Hope this helps.
do you haave url send if you do then this is easy you can scan the large folders in the mailbox then enter a email addrerss for the mailbox and send the email address as a link and others can retrieve the data from the machines mailbox
First your company must have a e-mail server.Enter the server ip address in the smtp server address in the additional funcktion, system settings, network settings page untill you get the smtp server address.
scan to email can only be setup to work on a internal email server if the email server is external it will not work. also make sure you input the admin email address and the from email address when configuing the machine
Its fair simple, if you are scanning to windows PC, Create a folder called scans in your C:\ drive. Share it and give all the permissions. Thereafter log on to your copier using the IP address in your internet explorer. Go to address, click address book one, click the second tab on your left saying register new address. thereafter enter you name, then change from FTP to SMB and then host name will be your computer name\ip address, followed by scans(\\computername\scans)just like that. followed by your username and password.
Yes, the type of scanning mentioned by the previous answer is called 'pull scanning' and you will have limited functionality. You have to load the document on the copier, turn on the scanner (nobody can use the machine now) return to your desk which I hope is not far from the copier because the doc stays there until you 'insert picture from scanner' then the machine scans the document and you run back to the copier to get it before someone throws it in the trash! It's a free system but limited. To have a fully functioning 'push scanner' where you send a doc as you stand at the copier to either a file on your computer, server or an email address you would need a universal send kit installed. If your machine has one you'l see the option tab called 'SEND' along the top of your screen. If you have this you're in luck. All you need is to enter the necessary network and email settings which can be done by any half decent network administrator vis the 'system settings' area from the addtional functions screen (accessed by pressing the head key with a star in it). Once this is set up merely select the 'SEND' tab and insert your document. In the top right hand corner will be a drop down menu reading either 'FILE' 'EMAIL' or 'FTP' If you want to send it to a shared folder on your network (anywhere) you select the 'FILE' option and then use the drop down menu in the centre of the screen to search the network for your shared folder. Select it and then press ok then the start key - IT'S GONE - IF YOU'RE LUCKY. To send to email you just select the 'EMAIL' option and enter the email address of the recipient and ok then start and you're in business provided that all the network and email settings are correctly entered and permissions for network access is set up. The machine needs a email account registered for it as well. I'm tired now - good luck.
This software is just a twain driver that interfaces with the copier through the network. It does not give you any software to drive the scanner, it only gives you a choice for the copier in your list of scanners. You have to use some other program (i.e. Acrobat standard or MS document imaging) to drive. After you install it open it up, let it discover the machine on the netowrk and close it. The interface only points to the device on the wore, it is not directly used for scanning.
If you have a send button I would recommend for your situation that you scan to a shared folder on your desktop. First you create the shared folder, and make sure you can see it from another PC on the network. If your other PC's can't see it the copier won't either. Create a user on the computer with the shared folder for the copier to use. Set that users password to never expire. Press the additional functions hard button Press the touch screen button for address book Add an address to address book # 1 The type of address will be SMB Register a name for the address (Scan to PC is fine) there should be a browse button on the screen, press it
Use the up and down arrow to browse up and down the tree when you see your network browse from the domain to the PC you are scanning to When you try to expand the PC you will have to enter in the user and password you created for scanning point to the shared folder you will use OK your way back out to the user screens Have fun scanning
You need to create a "one-touch"
This can be done in the Admin Screen without having to enter a code.
Better yet is to just yype the IP address into your browser and create them there.
The copier will need an email address in order to send them and you may need to log out and then back into the 250 as an "Admin".
give the same class ip address to your printe and computer and install ms office soft ware, and then microsoft tools click that we find the microsoft document scanning create shortcut to the desktop. ping the printer for computer run the network scan gear and click on the ip, enter the ip address in the blocks and then the discover. then scan the document for the ir 3300 scanner.
