Question about Canon MultiPASS MP370 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Mp370 nnot printing color even after changing ink tank

My step daughter ran the color tank completely empty and did not tell anyone, it was left this way for a couple of weeks, until I needed to print. That is when I realized that it was empty. I put in a new color tank but it would not print in color. So I changed both the black and color (2nd one for color) tanks and reset the levels. The black prints fine but there is no color printing. I have cleaned the cartridge and reinstalled, did a deep clean and a head alignment test page, but the color is still not printing. I have heard that soaking the print heads in warm water might help. This was a very good printer and I would like to keep it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same issue...almost. Green and yellow print, but the red doesn't. I tried the same things you did. Have you found a solution yet?

    Thank

my MP370 started printing white streaks when black printing. Tried deep cleaning - problem got worse; changed black tank twice - same result. Bought new print head - nothing at all in colour or black; exchanged print head at supplier, still nil in black or colour. I've only used genuine Canon inks throughout. Is there anything else I can try?

My problem is similar but the black is not printing every line. It is missing a lot. I have changed the cartridge 3 times. I too like the printer and want to keep it.

I ran out of both black and color ink. I replaced the black ink b/c I do not print in color. But I cannot complete the alignment steps without the color ink.

Lexmark printers usually require both cartridges to have ink left in them to continue printing. But try to press the Cancel button for the Alignment process (this is not recommended). Then try to print a document again to verify that you are able to continue printing without an empty color ink.
If that doesn't help, I would suggest you replace your color cartridge with a new genuine Lexmark cartridge.

(2) Remove the orange protective cap from the bottom of the ink tank and discard it.

bullet_s.gif The ALARM lamp still flashes orange after the Top Cover is closed if an ink tank is not installed properly. Open the Top Cover and make sure that all the ink tanks are installed in the correct order directed on the label.
bullet_s.gif To maintain optimal print quality, use an ink tank within six months of first use.
bullet_s.gif Once an ink tank has been used, do not remove it from the printer and leave it out in the open. This will cause the ink tank to dry out and the printer may not operate properly when it is reinstalled.
bullet_s.gif Color ink consumption may occur even when black-and-white or gray scale printing is specified.
Color ink is consumed in the head cleaning and deep cleaning, which are necessary to maintain the printer.
bullet_s.gif When you start printing after replacing the ink tank, Print Head Cleaning is performed automatically. Do not perform any other operations until the Print Head Cleaning finishes. The POWER lamp flashes green during cleaning.

Canon MX850. Print blank after ink changes. The black ink, PGBK-5, ran out so I replaced it with a cheap generic ink tank. But it didn't work, nothing print, not even color copy. I thought the ink is bad...

That is a common problem on all Canon printers, the purge assembly on the right where the printhead parks, has a pump inside and hoses that go to the filters and ink absorbers. When that unit goes out you need a replacement. A job best done in a shop. When the printhead is not cleaned and primed properly you get blank pages no matter how full the inks are.

Printer will only print in colour ink, not anything in black text

The issue your having is more then likely the ink cartridge itself or the printhead. Here is the steps in checking and possibly fixing the issue. Step 7 though should be done by a repair tech.

(1) Check that the orange cap or tap is not on the printhead.
(2) Remove the printhead and re-install it.
(3) Perform printhead cleaning, and visually check the test print for non-discharge of ink from nozzle.
(4) Perform head-refreshing, and visually check the test print for non-discharge of ink from nozzle.
(5) Replace the appropriate ink tank.
(6) Replace the printhead
(7) Replace the purge unit.

The ink tank doesn't go to the middle

After you opened the front panel, did you lift the scanner section? The scanner section has a switch on it that activates the ink tank holders to come out to the middle so they can be changed. It is not the greatest design and it doesn't stay up by itself. I normally use an old cartridge to prop up the scanner section while I change cartridges. Hope this helps!

Why won't my CX9400F recognize Epson ink cartridges

The Epson CX9400F printer seems to require replacement of all the color ink cartridges, even if only the Black is empty.

I print almost exclusively in Black, but with my first change of Black, I was forced to change all the color. At the time I thought Epson did not provide completely filled color ink cartridges.

Just yesterday, I replaced Black and the printer complained it did not recognize the rest of color cartridges. So I replaced all the other color ink cartridges and now it works fine.

You might want to check out www.clickinks.com for cheaper, mail order alternatives which are Epson ink compatible, if you are not in a hurry.

Complete the following steps to resolve this issue.
Step one: Check the printin grayscale setting
If the self test page printed in color, the ink cartridgesare okay, and the ink levels are well above empty, the printer software hasprobably been set to print in grayscale. Follow the steps below to check thissetting:
  1. In the software application you are trying to print from, click File, then Print. The Print dialog opens.
  2. Make sure your printer is selected, then click Preferences. The printer Preferences dialog opens.
  3. Select the Color tab, then make sure that Print in grayscale is not selected.
  4. Try the print job again to see if this step resolved the issue.
    • If the issue is resolved, you do not need to continue with the rest of the instructions on this page.
    • If the issue is not resolved, continue to the next step.

  2. Try the print job again to see if this step resolved the issue. If the issue is not resolved, continue to the next step.
Step three: Check inklevels
Replace any empty print cartridges.

I believe that he is reffering to the waste ink tank where the cartriges stop to the right when not being used. There are two small foam pads over there.
I cleaned mine by opening lid and have carriage run to the left, then I reach in with a q-tip and press down repeatly until q-tips are almost clean. You will need a flashlight to see waht you are doing.

Brother MFC 210C All-in-One Ink Cartridges

near empty message is a reminder: plz buy a new cart (but do NOT change until EMPTY). You still can print.

the ink left in an empty cart keeps the system alive when some ink is neede for the automatic cleaning cycle.
If you print until this cart is really empty air will get into the tubes and ph. That leads to faulty printings.
brother had made sure that the amount of printable ink can be consumed. The rest is for service.
