If so, boot up with that and choose "R" at the first menu, that will get you into the recovery console, from there, at the prompt, type in "chkdsk /r" without the quotation marks.

Let check disk run, it may take some time, but when it's finished, type in "exit" and let the system reboot. Hopefully it will fix any system files that may have gotten corrupted.

If that doesn't work, post back.

Good Luck!

Hi i go to load windows n it comes up corrupt n error code OxOOOO14c n wont let me do anything wont even let me load my recovery disc or windows support disc

You mean error Oxcoooo14c? That means your system registry is corrupt, or even missing.

You can try this; and how to get Recovery Media info is also included:

Download the ISO file at the supplied link, and make a Bootable Startup Repair Disk from it.

Go into your Bios/Setup, or Boot Menu, at startup, and change the Boot Order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the Boot Order, then reboot with the disk in the Drive.

At startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, to go into Bios/Setup, or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert that Bootable Disk you have made in the Drive, and reboot.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html

Above link shows what the process looks like, and a how-to, as it loads to the Repair Options.

Neosmart contains the contents of the Windows Vista DVD's "recovery center," as we've come to refer to it. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and just serves as a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, one could re-create this installation media with freely-downloadable media from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK kit, a multi-gigabyte download); but it's damn-decent of Microsoft to make this available to Windows' users who might not be capable of creating such a thing on their own.

Read all info at the website about creating and using it.

http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/

ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html

It makes a very good Vista Startup Repair Disk.

You can do a Startup Repair, System Restore, etc from it.

It is NOT a reinstall disk.

And the 32bit is what comes normally on a computer, unless 64bits requested.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How to obtain Vista recovery Media and/or use the Vista Recovery Partition on your computer to put it back to Factory Settings.
There is no legal free Vista download available.
Contact your Computer Manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of Vista Recovery disk/s.
They normally do that for a small $ cost.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Also, ask them if you have a Recovery Partition on your Computer/Laptop to restore it to Factory settings.
See if a Manual came with the computer, or go to the Manufacturer's website, email or phone them for info on how to do a Recovery.

Normally, you would press F10 or F11 at Startup to commence the Recovery Process..

Another way I have seen on some models is to tap F8, and go to a list of Startup options, and start a Factory Standards Recovery from in there, by selecting the Repair computer option.

Try the F8 Option to get into Safe Mode and try to do a System Restore:

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/
Do System Restore in Safe Mode, if unable to do it in Normal Mode.
Try tapping F8 at startup, and from the list of startup selections, select Safe Mode by using UP Arrow Key to go there > then hit Enter.

Try a System Restore once there, to pick a Restore Point before your problem..

Click Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore > pick a different time > Next > etc

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If that does not work > Try the Recovery disk to do a Startup Repair/System Restore > if that fails, reinstall Vista.
I can not open my skype,my computer show me that I have fatal error:faild to get proc address for encode pointer(kernel 32.dll)
go into control panel administrive tools computer management then select event viewer depending on what operating sytem you have this may vary
extend the events there you will see errors in red you will no what exactly what the error was and at what time it occured you might have to uninstall then reinstall the program and its files
uninstall the program, reboot your computer, and then install the latest version again from scratch.
until you know what the problem is you cant fix it or you might try
you could run the check disk utility
click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to repair any bad sectors and automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive this should schedule to happen when you restart your computer then defragment your hard drive
or you might download and use this registry cleaner it is totally free to use
In my ' PhoneSuite_exe_V2[1].3.0' software 'libexpat.dll' is not found. now, how can i install this software? can u send this software to my email?
How to Fix Libexpat.dll ErrorsImportant: Do not download libexpat.dll from a "DLL download" website. There are many reasons why downloading a DLL file is a bad idea. If you need a copy of libexpat.dll, it's best to obtain it from its original, legitimate source. Note: Start Windows in Safe Mode to complete any of the following steps if you're unable to access Windows normally due to the libexpat.dll error.
  1. Restore libexpat.dll from the Recycle Bin. The easiest possible cause of a "missing" libexpat.dll file is that you've mistakenly deleted it.
    If you suspect that you've accidentally deleted libexpat.dll but you've already emptied the Recycle Bin, you may be able to recover libexpat.dll with a free file recovery program.
    Important: Recovering a deleted copy of libexpat.dll with a file recovery program is a smart idea only if you're confident you've deleted the file yourself and that it was working properly before you did that.
  2. Run a virus/malware scan of your entire system. Some libexpat.dll errors could be related to a virus or other malware infection on your computer that has damaged the DLL file. It's even possible that the libexpat.dll error you're seeing is related to a hostile program that's masquerading as the file.
  3. Use System Restore to undo recent system changes. If you suspect that the libexpat.dll error was caused by a change made to an important file or configuration, a System Restore could solve the problem.
  4. Reinstall the program that uses the libexpat.dll file. If the libexpat.dll DLL error occurs when you use a particular program, reinstalling the program should replace the file.
    Important: Try your best to complete this step. Reinstalling the program that provides the libexpat.dll file, if possible, is a likely solution to this DLL error.
  5. Update the drivers for hardware devices that might be related to libexpat.dll. If, for example, you're receiving a "The file libexpat.dll is missing" error when you play a 3D video game, try updating the drivers for your video card.
    Note: The libexpat.dll file may or may not be related to video cards - this was just an example. The key here is to pay very close attention to the context of the error and troubleshoot accordingly.
  6. Roll back a driver to a previously installed version if libexpat.dll errors began after updating a particular hardware device's driver.
  7. Run the sfc /scannow System File Checker command to replace a missing or corrupt copy of the libexpat.dll file. If this DLL file is provided my Microsoft, the System File Checker tool should restore it.
  8. Install any available Windows updates. Many service packs and other patches replace or update some of the hundreds of Microsoft distributed DLL files on your computer. The libexpat.dll file could be included in one of those updates.
  9. Test your memory and then test your hard drive. I've left the majority of hardware troubleshooting to the last step, but your computer's memory and hard drive are easy to test and are the most likely components that might cause libexpat.dll errors as they fail.
    If the hardware fails any of your tests, replace the memory or replace the hard drive as soon as possible.
  10. Repair your installation of Windows. If the individual libexpat.dll file troubleshooting advice above is unsuccessful, performing a startup repair or repair installation should restore all Windows DLL files to their working versions.
  11. Use a free registry cleaner to repair libexpat.dll related issues in the registry. A free registry cleaner program may be able to help by removing invalid libexpat.dll registry entries that might be causing the DLL error.
    Important: I rarely recommend the use of registry cleaners. I've included the option here as a "last resort" attempt before the destructive step coming up next.
  12. Perform a clean installation of Windows. A clean install of Windows will erase everything from the hard drive and install a fresh copy of Windows. If none of the steps above correct the libexpat.dll error, this should be your next course of action.
    Important: All the information on your hard drive will be erased during a clean install. Make sure you've made the best attempt possible to fix the libexpat.dll error using a troubleshooting step prior to this one.
  13. Troubleshoot for a hardware problem if any libexpat.dll errors persist. After a clean install of Windows, your DLL problem can only be hardware related.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response. Happy New Year!
Thanks, Joe
I can't sign in on the playstation 3vthe error code that keeps coming up is 80023017 whats the mater
PS3 Error 80023017 & 8002F0C1 & 8002f14e
Following on from the PS3 3.50 firmware update today, we have started to hear of owners having problems logging on to their accounts.
We have heard of PS3 owners who have updated their system complaining that they cannot sign in, and every time they enter their password are getting the wrong password message. We have had customers who have two PSN accounts and cannot log into either of them. They are met with wrong password message, and even when they use "Forgot your Password" all that comes up is an error.
Conrad Zimmerman of Destructtoid is reporting that PSN is going to have some scheduled maintenance today. This could be why users are complaining of problems logging on to their accounts.
The maintenance is expected to take place during 8 am until 5pm Pacific time. There will be a lot of users who are at work during this time so it will not be a problem for them, but for everyone else it will be somewhat of an annoyance.
Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question.
I have got a dell latitude c610 computer +it is cumin on with the dell logo but is then sayin that windows has shut dwn 2 protect it,i dont have a disk,iv lookled online2c if ny thing can b downloaded but...
Hi.
You need to reinstall the system using the licence number on the sticker usually placed at the bottom side of the laptop.
Microsoft does not distribute replacement disk to reinstall OEM licenced Windows, so that you will need to find a disk.
If you want to purchase a new licence, you can get one from the Dell store.
A common way to proceed is downloading a disk with the operative system corresponding to the version on the sticker (eg. Windows XP Home), and reinstalling the system.
This practice is not endorsed by Microsoft, but it is not illegal, providing that you use a genuine licence number valid for installation on this computer.
THis is the operation performed also at local computer shops to reinstal OEM operative system.
The operation is done for a small fee at computer shops. A good option would also be having the job done at a local shop.
If you want to DIY, you will need a Windows install disk of the same version printed on the licence sticker.
A way to get the disk is by downloading the disk. Please be aware that most persons making the download available are breaking the law by also providing invalid licence numbers or programs to disable Windows Validation procedure. If you decide to download the disk, also be aware that software distributed in this way may contain viruses.
In no case use a licence that does not belong to your computer genuine license, or does not come from a genuine Microsoft system COA sticker that can be installed on your computer.
To download the disk you will need at least three programs:
1) a p2p downloader: µTorrent
2) a p2p search utility: Convivea - Bit Che
2) a CD/DVD burning utility: Free CD/DVD burning
Install the downloader, then the search utility. Search a Windows disk for your same version. Choose one that does not offer crack or validation cheating. Download may take over one day to complete.
When download is complete burn a CD by installing CD burning software.
Start the C610 with the Windows disk inside and reinstall Windows.
After installing the operative system you will need to download and install all the software drivers listed here.
The operation is quite complicate, and system reinstall is suggested to an advanced computer user.
If you have not done anything similar before, better taking the laptop to a shop, or contacting Dell to arrange a repair. This will also exclude the risks related to download of not verified ( and often non-legal) software using P2P.
Repair cost at t shop starts at about $50.
Regards.
My router doesnt get the internet connection?
To reset any router, follow this guide:
* Note: Depending on the type of router you have, the instructions will vary to each their own. This is a generic guide and all routers have these options.
What you need before hand:
Software for reinstallation. This came on a disk when you purchased the router. If you do not have the disk, you can download the set-up software from the manufacturer's website for free.
Instructions:
1. With the router plugged into the wall, look on the back and locate the little reset button. You can use a pen or paper clip to press the button for approximately 15 seconds. During this time, the router led lights in the front will blink which indicates the router is resetting.
2. Place the software in the cd-rom or start the installation if you downloaded the software. Do not plug the router into the computer until the software has instructed you to. The wizard will guide you on how to set-up the security, firewall, etc. Follow all instructions.
3. After running the configuration software, the router will be newly configured and you are all done. Resetting and reconfiguring the router is the fastest way to "clean-up" networking errors.
3 problems writting on hd, drop connection n download master
Use a FAT32 Formatted partition (32GB) on your external USB Harddrive as the main Master Download Area. To do this, connect the drive to the PC by USB and re-partition the drive in sections with the disk manager. 32GB for the FAT32 and the rest in NTFS. Re-connect the drive to the WL500W USB and the FAT32 partition will be recognised automatically by the Router. Linux users can use the full HD drive if they format the drive in Ext2/Ext3. Correctly formatted USB memory sticks with a capacity of 32GB are better suited for this un-attended (low power) dowloading. You can use a (FAT32) 8 Gbyte stick also !
Warning !
Using only NTFS partitions will make the drive read-only and useless for un-attended downloads by the WL500W. Unfortunatly this is the case with 100% of all new availbale drives (>500GB) - So RE-PARTITION it wisely !!!
What about Queing (Waiting) ?
It waits for the connection and if bandwidth is available it starts the download. If files are missing on a server or the address is invalid an error is risen and the link is aborted or deleted. Many BitTorrent files are invalid or have nobody seeding. Waiting is therefore the best option.
