The top grilling surface does not appear to be working on my grill (- it did not get hot during its last use). I thought that it was suppose to get hot. Is there anything that I can do to repair this problem or should I just throw it out and buy another one?
If you can access the electrical connections, ths should be an easy fix. If this has a temp setting or switch, it could be a loose connection at that control, or a loose connection at the heating element. for some reason, you're not getting power to the element.

the indicator light doesn't have anything to do with how hot the grille gets,that is preset by an internal thermostat and the light just comes on when that temperature is reached, more than likely the miniature neon bulb that light is burnt out, any appliance repair shop can replace this bulb for you
I wouldn't suggest spray on Teflon - even if it can withstand high temperatures, in prolonged use the Teflon Spray you can buy isn't really supposed to be used for food prep. If the grill still works okay then keep the grill; prices of George Foreman grills have fallen due to Russell Hobbs who have brought out larger grills for the same cost.
unfortunately this is a common problem among these grills, your only option is to replace it unless you have an extended warranty... if you want to keep using it, you can use a scotchbrite or similar metal pad to get rid of most of the teflon coating. if you want to replace it because you love electric grilling and don't much like teflon flakes in your food, i would recommend that your next grill have stainless steel or cast iron grilling surfaces..
Contact these guys;
and they should be able to give you a repair centre list - i think you are right about the board - if you can post again with the board number we can try to source it seperately
Hope this helps :)
