Top grilling surface

The top grilling surface does not appear to be working on my grill (- it did not get hot during its last use). I thought that it was suppose to get hot. Is there anything that I can do to repair this problem or should I just throw it out and buy another one?

If you can access the electrical connections, ths should be an easy fix. If this has a temp setting or switch, it could be a loose connection at that control, or a loose connection at the heating element. for some reason, you're not getting power to the element.

I have a Char-Broil Tec grill everything works fine but after about 2 minutes into grilling, a loud popping sound and the tec-radiant burner goes out, this happens everytime I use the radiant burners

The radient burner most likely has a crack in the top. This will make the pop and the burner will go out. Inspect the top of the burner for any cracks, if you find one, the only solution is to replace the burner. Since these burners get very hot, I do not recommend having the grill lid closed when these burners are being used, this can cause them to overheat and crack the top surface.

Both lights on the top oven work when using it as an oven but when using it as a grill, they don't! There doesn't appear to be any other fault as the oven and grill still work fine. Any thoughts...

The unit is working as it should. The top oven lights will only come on when the top oven control knob is turned on. The grill control does NOT turn the lights on. If you want to see what you are grilling, then you should turn the top oven control on to its first position. This works even if the grill is operating.

What do you think about installing a flat top grill in their outdoor kitchen?

It could be useful for cooking some foods but will not be as versatile as a standard flame grill.
First, the top may not get hot enough. It has only one level so cooking multiple items is difficult.Having a cover allows to cook more efficiently and effectively as cooking occurs all around the food as opposed to only on the area touching the flat top surface.

Use a mild non-abrasive cleaner first. I that fails try automotive compound (which is slightly abrasive but won't scratch the metal surface if used as directed.

Hotpoint cooker, grill doesn't work but top oven does

If the elements 'look' okay, they probably are. The 'infinite control switch' is probably the problem. With out the use of a meter, it's guess work. Unless you can see a connection problem.

Grill faulty on my double oven

Creda reflection double oven had the same issue, both ovens work but the grill was either hot or cold, no temp control. I changed the thermostat first, due to being a novice and not fully understanding how things worked. it didn't help so I have changed the grill regulator,( bit that the knob fits onto) and it has solved the issue. I expect this to be the same with most top oven and grill combinations with the oven working but the grill only being hot or off.
