Dryer not heating and timer dosen't move

A dryer runs 2 halfs (one half 120, the other 120). Sounds like you are missing the 120 that operates those two. Did you change from a four prong to a three prong?

sounds like you wired it wrong really. Do you have 120 volts from either outside wire to the center wire on the unit, and 220 to both outside wires if not its wired wrong

LG DLE2514W Power does not stay on. Power cuts

If you move the cord @ the outlet and the dryer shuts off replace outlet if the prongs on the cord are not damaged.

If you wiggle at the dryer side and it shuts off un plug the dryer remove acess cover and inspect end of cord. Ck. and make sure terminal nuts are tight. and not burnt due to a loose connection.

Longer cord/age of washer & dryer

Is your dryer electric with the big plug.
If so, what kind of changes are you making?
The dryer needs to be by the vent outlet so you can't move it far unless you are going to cut a new venting outlet.
If it is electric (not gas) then do not try to extend the cord. Have a licensed electrician move the electrical jack.
The cord has a large amount of current running through it and the longer the cord, the more resistance the current has to flow through. More resistance means more heating of the cord and less voltage for your dryer. This can result in the cord overheating to the point of melting and starting a fire itself or getting hot enough to ignite the very fine and very dry lint particles that are present in any laundry room.

This is a situation where you spend the money and have it done professionally because of the danger of fire, death, etc.

Good Luck!

I had to change from a three prong to a four prong outlet. The green wire wont reach the gound bolt on the back of the dryer. I currently have it set on top of the white wire but there is also a copper...

You need to remove the grounding strap between the GROUND (Green) and NEUTRAL (White) wire if it still attached. A four prong configuration has a ground independent of the neutral wire. If the ground wire is too short to reach the terminal block, I suggest you install a longer wire of the same gauge, find an alternate location that you ground the wire to the case, or pig tail the exisiting ground to accomodate. The following link explains the 4-prong configuration:

Nearly all modern appliances require a 4 prong power cord now. If you have any questions about this repair, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Dryer works but no heat. We just moved...

most likely there is something wrong with the way the cord is wired to the machine or the outlet is dead. Dryers dont usually get damaged just by moving them. did u change the power cord. red on one end white in the middle black on the other end and green to cabinet ground.

Dryer not working

Assuming the problem is associated with you changing the cord, it sounds like you have a wire crossed on the power cord. Double check how you have the cord installed first. If that is correct check your power to the dryer. Since you changed the type of cord, I assume you have had outlet replaced or have just moved to new house. If you have a fuse box instead of a breaker box, check your fuses. It takes two fuses for the dryer. If one of them blows, the motor will run but you wont get heat. The motor runs on 120 but it needs 240 for the element. I can't count how many people have bought a new dryer just to find out they only had a house fuse blown and nothing was wrong with their old dryer. If you have had wall outlet changed there could be a wire crossed in it.
