Question about Washing Machines
When you put fabric softner in the dispensing slot it never fully empties when it is supposed to. Intermittent problem. Fabric softener is not added to rinse and remains in dispenser at end of cycle. We have fully dismantled and cleaned the unit but does not help. Have also diluted the softener (I use Downy). Because its intermittent I don't think there is a blockage. I entered a valid product below according to my paperwork - but it is not accepted (Frigidaire Front Load Washer Model GLTF1040AS - is correct!)
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I have this problem as well.. All washing machines manufactured nowadays are energy effficient, which means that they don't use as much water as the older models. This can result in a build-up of bacteria in the top part of the washing machine, which is clogging up the bit where the water comes through to flush the fabric conditioner into the drum. What I have to do every so often, is to take the top off the washing machine and clean out the layer of black slime that has built up, blocking the holes where the water goes into the washing machine. Another contributory factor is that the usual program used is a 40 degree wash, which is not hot enough to completely flush the machine through. Manufacturers recommend running a 90 degree wash once a month with just washing powder in iit, no clothes. Hope this is some help

I had the same problem with mine, and just added water in with the softener to fill it 'to the line' - and it's worked since! Can't hurt to try!!

What type of water hoses are hooked up to it? If you have the flood safe hoses with the check valve in them then there isn't enough water pressure to distribute the softener.
