Printing problem with epson c1100

The printing on the far right of the page comes out faded and some not at all. Also when printing Blue, a blue streak appears down the page. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks
John

I have the same problem with the print being faded down the right hand side. We bought another second hand printer from ebay and swapped the photoconductor, and the fuser, neither of which made any difference.

Sounds like a transfer belt problem - new photoconductor unit may be needed

Epson aculaser c1100 not printing right hand edge

The problem may well be that the drum needs cleaning. There is a plastic flap on the rhs of the machine. Open that and you can pull a long lever out. You also need to let down the front cover and pull out the lever on the right hand edge that faces you. Then extend the long lever at the side as far as it can go and push it in and out a few times. This should solve the problem. Put the front lever back and close the cover. It took me ages to find this - Epson are not good at highlighting it,.

First rule out that it is a paper issue by trying a different type of paper

If that dosnt work
check if the gradation setting is too small when printing graphics. On the Basic Setting menu in the printer driver, click More Settings, adjust the gradation setting by sliding the Contrast slider bar

If that dosnt work
Clean the print head .
see steps at the bottom

If that dosnt work
It is starting to look like drum/photoconductor problem, this may need to be replaced (the most expensive solution)

Follow the steps below to clean the printer head.
r_1.gif Open the cleaner cover on the right side of the printer. Then, open cover A. d580095.gif
r_2.gif Pull the blue lever on the right inside of the printer. d580096.gif
r_3.gif Move the blue cleaner slowly in and out once. d580097.gif
r_space.gif r_note.gif Note: r_space.gif r_space.gif Move the cleaner completely in and out. Otherwise, the printer may not be cleaned effectively. r_4.gif Push back the blue lever on the right inside of the printer. d580098.gif

No print on the RHS of page using Epson Aculaser C1100

Two things to check,
1- clean the laser by opening the front cover, pull forward the green lever on the R/H side, take off the little panel on the R/H side of the printer and pull out/push in the lens cleaning "stick". Replace panel and push the lever back in, close the front and try a test print.
If that didn't work:
2- Open the lid, lift the orange lever and remove the photoconductor. Be careful with it as it is easily scratched. Inside the printer rotate the toner cartridges and check that the cartridge lock levers are fully locked as even a couple of millimeters can block the laser.

Hope this helps.

Epson Aculaser C1100 will not print properly after changing black toner

I have had this problem with a couple of our C1100's the solution is simple but a bit fiddly.

open the lid and remove the photoconductor unit. what you need to do is clean the glass panel through which the laser shines (it is there honest). It id directly behind the toners but down near where the paper sits. Look at the photoconductor and see where the blue roller sits in the printer. This roller has the laser shone on it and then picks up the toner relaying it onto the belt in the photoconductor.

What i did was get a wad of strong tissue and use a screndriver to wedge it down the rear of the toners (in between the toners and the black plastic bar as you look into the printer with the photo conductor removed) and then slide it back and forth. I actually learned this one form some Minolta QMS printers we have, but the glass plate was in plain view on those.

Basically what we had happen was that some toner had dropped onto the glas and was blocking the laser from hitting the roller and this lead to blank (or faded) strip along the length of a page.

I suppose a smallish paintbrush would do the same thing.

Some of these problems are addressed in the Service Manual p242 onwards with illustrations and correction procedure. You may have to talk it through with EPSON technical support/or obtain a technicians support. What is shown does not exactly fit your description so here's hoping.

Print quality Epson C1100

It sounds as though a cartridge is faulty. To determine which one, the easiest way is to run a page of text/block of colour through in yellow then cyan then magenta. which ever page comes out with the streaks on it will tell you which cartyridge to ditch and replace. Hope this helps Cops Pete@wedotoners.com

Printing Problem

If you have have followed the directions for cleaning the printhead (blue lever on right side of printer - move wand in and out completely several times) then it sounds as if your drum unit (photoconductor unit) has developed a problem and should be replaced. PLEASE let me know if this solved your problem or you need additional assistance before rating this solution. Thanks Ed
